So mine went in on 12/05/23 with all parts in shop ready to install.
Came out of shop 02/14/24 with module 9 and all updates and recalls completed, took longer due to replacement module shop received was DOA faulty and Ford did not want to replace the replacement.

is the above indication my build date:
120221201 = December 1, 2022 build date..??
still not sure Iā€™m understanding exactly when my 2023 was built. I purchased it on 01/16/2023. Thank you.

Yes thatā€™s right. The last 4 numbers are your month and day. Mine was 120221102. So my build date was 11/2/2022. Technically though thatā€™s just the start date. It gets built over the following week or so.

The blend date is the ~planned~ date everything is going together, it's usually accurate except when it's not, that is why I intently watched the modules popping date, that was a sure sign that our trucks had just transited the main line.

could only find a record of an air dam fault. Is that usually associated with the power train malfunction?
You have a very early build, but hopefully during the slow factory ramp-up they were paying close attention to building units at that time.
On the spreadsheet line 36, one person had an associated air dam fault, but it is unknown if there actually was a battery module replacement.
Let us hope your truck's previous module replacement is not to be repeated. Ford issued a notice somewhere that said something like up to 4% of owners, before they hopefully clamped down on battery quality control, would experience a module replacement. One of every 25 Lightnings! @Ford Motor Company needs to make these replacements within a couple of days, not several weeks.
See the 9th page of the 10 page bulletin where 4% is mentioned:
23b57bull-pdf.72144/
"Less than 4% of the affected vehicle population is expected to require one or more high voltage
battery modules needing to be replaced."

Wonderful.

IMO @Ford Motor Company needs to step up and take a national initiative of owners affected. From this thread, people's experiences range from a few days to over a month, no loaner to an ICE Escape (like me), or a Mach-E or Lightning. It's a damn mess and they have to know it's a widespread issue.
Same thing happened to me. Mine has been at dealership 2 weeks waiting on battery replacement. They did give a Escape loaner, but I need something with a trailer hitch (messing up my perfect retirement plan). I try to golf 3 times a week and fish 3 times a week.

I also just got the powertrain malfunction. Only 5500 miles on the truck and it previously had a module replaced (at ~3500 miles). 22 xlt ER. I love this truck more than anything I have ever driven but am pretty worried about reliability (coming from a lifetime of Toyotaā€™s)
Update - went to drive it to the dealer on friday and the wrench light was off and powertrain malfunction message cleared from the phone app (of course). The dealer could only find an issue with the active air dam and want to replace parts associated with that. Has anyone else gotten the powertrain malfunction for the airdam? Has anyone ever had the wrench light go away on its own?

Waiting to hear from ford to see if they can offer any insight into the powertrain message.

I asked the BEV guy on my case and he straight up told me that a replacement truck is not covered by their warranty. To paraphrase it was "you'll get what we give you".

I had the powertrain error for the millionth time, but this time, it limited throttle to 56%. Took it to the dealer, and it has now been there for about a month solid. It needs a battery module replaced, and they have all the parts except a very specific sealant needed to complete the repair. I have an open case with @Ford Motor Company but still haven't had much help. It has probably been in the shop for repairs coming up on 2 months out of the 12 I have owned it at this point...

Update, Ford called the dealer, and they said they hadn't done an escalation and that Ford had changed how the sealant needed to be ordered. So now, they expect it tomorrow or Monday, with another week to replace the modules. So a month and a half in the shop for this repair.

Requested a buyback and was denied due to being non-eligible. It has now been in the shop well over the 30 days that Texas law require. I love the truck, but am on the fence about going back to the buyback route.

FWIW Ford dealer will not provide a loaner (at this dealership) and Ford will only reimburse $60 a day, and you must rent an F-150 or an Explorer to get that rate. Not sure about ya'll, but I wish I knew where I could rent an F-150 for $60 a day with taxes and fees baked in...

Well this is a shock. Dealer called and said the truck is done. I dropped it off 8 days ago. That's impressive turn around time. The first module took 35 days. Through the app I could see the truck was sitting in the back of the parking lot gathering dust until yesterday when they finally pulled it into the shop to work on it. They must have a few modules on hand. I was planning on putting out my video tomorrow on the subject but now I need to go back and make a few edits.

2023 F-150 Lightning Extended Range Lariat
First time poster, long time lurker. Yesterday upgraded from a standard range lariat to an extended range. Drove it about 100 miles home and all is good. It rained over night. This morning was out running errands with about 200 miles on the odometer (had 84 on it when I bought it), the dreaded Power Train Malfunction came in. Got it to the local dealer and after spending all day there, they informed me the fuse block cover either wasnā€™t put on correctly or came loose. Long story short water intrusion into the fuse box and it needs to be replaced now. They donā€™t have a fuse box and itā€™s on ā€œemergency orderā€. No loaner at the local dealership. Not a very happy camper right now.

Hi, I have been getting the powertrain malfunction /reduced power message in the app (almost weekly). Also got a message in the truck saying ā€œservice vehicle soonā€. And the wrench is on.

Only 8,000 miles.

Iā€™ve taken the vehicle in for a few recalls including the BEV recall.

They are aware of the problem and tried to fix (they replaced a part) - but so far, itā€™s still happening.

Is this is a big issue?

I actually havenā€™t noticed a different in drivability and when I restart the truck the service light goes away.

Picked up my truck this afternoon and so far so good. Gotta give a big thumbs up to Stivers Ford in Montgomery, AL. Local dealer did the repair and didnā€™t have a loaner. Stivers sent me a new Powerboost to drive. Had drivers deliver it to me and pick it up. Stivers sold me the truck and itā€™s about 100 miles from my house.

I took it to the dealer multiple times. One time they did the BEV sensor replacement (stopped the battery warning, but still got the Powertrain warning. Second time they replaces the air dam, still go the warning. Third time they said my AC coolant was low, they recharged and filled it. Said they thought that would do it.

Going on three days and so far, so goodā€¦.
