Tire Debate, tall and skinny

I’ve scoured google and YouTube to try and collect information but would like another set of eyes.
(Also, this is my first post on this forum! I come from a pretty respectful 2nd gen Tacoma build with big wheels and tires)

For reference, I have a 2021 Ford lariat fx4 501a in lead foot.

I plan on installing a 2“ level (I bought the 2” rough country spacers, but after research I’m going to look into the ford fox suspension)

Truck uses:
-Daily
-Hunting
-Adventure/ over landing
-snow / ski truck
-general truck stuff
-fair bit of towing

goals:
-new wheels (im in-different if they are 18”s or 17”s, I like the look of a smaller wheel, most information I could find would be about 20”s. Seems like most ford owners like the bigger rim size)
-bigger tires (I want either Ko2’s or the falken at3’s)
-fill out the wheel arches better
-little to 0% poke
-little to no cutting, no crash bar atleast
-retain factory function of all the driver assist stuff (didn’t think I needed it but it is really nice to have, I plan on getting the blue cruise)

I’ve narrowed it to these setups, and would like to know if they would work with my goals or fit.
I like the idea of tall and skinny, the 295/75r17’s on my Tacoma got old.

a) method 17x8.5 +0mm , BF ko2 34x10.5r17.
b) method 18x9 +18mm. , falken at3W 285/75r18. (34x11.8)
c) method 18x9 +18mm., Falken at3W or Ko2 275/70r18 (33.4x11”)

cost difference: A) +$82. B) +$155. C) 0.00 so really not a ”big” difference

Haven’t seen any trucks with option A, and with the 0mm offset I would be about 1/4” away from flush if other peoples measurements were correct, but this is where I become unsure because I’m going off random measurements.

Pics of the truck! (Super happy with it, immediately took it on a antelope hunt, made me realize i need just a bit bigger tire and made me miss my camper shell. So i bit the bullet and put a deposit on a RSI smart cap for when they come out)

Here’s my take….

a) actually 33.5x10.6, stupid expensive at $400/tire
B) actually 34.8x11.2, still about $350/tire
C) Bfg is 33.2x11, Falken is 33.4x11, both reasonably priced at $275-300/tire

My opinion-
17” wheels(more tire options,lower cost all around, more sidewall for off-road and in my opinion look the best for any tire under 34”)
285/75R17 -Bfg is 33.9x11.3, Falken is 33.9x11.1, both priced right at $300/tire.
This option should come in around $200 less than option c due to the lower wheel cost. This is probably the size I would run but since I have max tow I’m stuck with 18+ wheels.

If you are going 0 off set you may look at your clearance on your upper control arm. I used factory 18 “ wheels (+ 44 off set I think) with 295/70/18 tires. I had 5/16” clearance between tire and uca.

If you want little to no poke I would not go with 0 offset. My buddy has 0 offset and it has some poke to it. 18mm sounds like what you are looking for but I would do 17 inch wheels if I were you. Tires are cheaper and you get more sidewall for off-roading. a 17x8.5/17x9 +18mm offset with 285/75/17 (33.9) bfg KO2s or falken at3w sounds like a perfect combo to me for your needs you described. My truck is leveled and I had 295/70/18 ridge grapplers (34.3) on the stock +44 offset 18 inch sport wheels and had plenty of clearance and now I'm running 315/70/17 BFGs on (34.4) on +34 offset 17 inch Raptor wheels with no rub or clearance issues.

0 offset pushes the wheel more outward which would give more clearance on the UCAs but less clearing on the crash bars when turning.
