If I install 10, then install 5 more, that’s a 50% increase but still only 15 chargers.

Edit: but a planned 300 locations is great to hear. The more charging will lead to some price competition until the market becomes saturated, then M&A will reduce total overall vendors which eventually leads to a disciplined market and market normalization. However the brilliant thing with EVs is that there will always be home charging to help keep price abnormalities in check and the barrier to entry for installing charger isn’t massive (like starting up a whole gas station).
Progress is progress my man, and it has a way of snowballing once they get better at it. I would love to unknowingly be able to stop at any walmart on a trip and expect to be able to fast charge for sure. And the Alpitronic and ABB units are absolute beasts in terms of reliability.

The interesting aspect: Walmart, Sam's club other EV charging network builds continue - clearly they anticipate more EV's will be coming to the road. and are preparing.

Walmart already having the land is definitely in their favor. For me, DCFC is 2x to 3x the cost of home charging, which is kind of ridiculous but I expect the cost of the equipment and installation is high. Having a charger on site can influence where we go while in a trip, if we have a 25 minute charging session we try to make good use of the time visiting the shops in walking distance.

Agree 100%! I have to imagine the EV space is pretty full a good deals right now in the U.S. and Walmart is smart to take advantage and get ahead of everyone else, for when prices go up....and they will! And it's especially great that it's Walmart because they're in so many places where chargers can't be found!
