Truck still shows in Minot…it was in the same spot yesterday at 10PM, so it’s been there for at least 24-hours with no movement. I hope we see some movement tomorrow….

After about 36 hours of sitting in Minot, ND, there is finally movement. At 8AM, it was still there, but when I checked at 10AM, it has moved West.

We may have based on my intel per yesterday’s PM…if so, that would put me ~24hrs ahead…hopefully, @macjaeh is with one of us. At least it appears the track west of Minot appear to be open and passable based on your location which was my question…now, onwards west gentleman…west!

Given many of those who have gone before us have taken ~14 days to complete the rail trip from Dearborn to PDX, at Day 10 we’re making good progress

The bottom line for those in Oregon too busy this summer to “watch the pot”, you should expect your truck will take 17-20 days to get to Portland from Dearborn once Ford releases it. Add 1-14 days to that for PDX staging/truck transport depending on the location of you’re Oregon dealer, and the availability of transport trucks.

For you detailed/analytical types (me‍)……..more detail:

BNSF has a transit time estimator for shipments they’re transporting to Portland or other PNW rail yards:

This tool only estimates the transit time for the BNSF portion of the trip, and requires some detailed input (which I happened to have) about the time of departure of your BNSF train and the last rail line who handled the car before BNSF,

Modeling mine reveals what I think is a realistic estimate of the transit times we can expect in the future from the time your truck leaves Dearborn to arrival in PDX, sans any other issues (e.g., derailments, strikes). I think this estimate supports what we’ve seen with prior shipments @TaxmanHog has documented in his tracker.

The train portion of the transit:

1. Dearborn to the IHB Blue Island Rail Yard: 5 days.
2. IHB to BNSF switch: 24-36 hrs.
3. Blue Island to PDX transit: 11-13 days (depending on departure day of week/time)

location update: as of today at 5:12PM truck is in Columbia Falls, MT. When I tried to check location again, it’s unavailable, hopefully this is a good sign, and means it is going through a no service area.

Thanks for the Update…your making great progress…hopefully you’ll be in Spokane in 24-36 hrs…there is some pretty rugged country ahead, though https://www.openrailwaymap.org/ shows track speeds mostly in the 70 mph range until it gets to Libby, MT. From there its somewhat slow going in the 35-55 mph range until it gets over the hump in the Idaho panhandle and headed south towards Sandpoint. Hopefully, I’m still with you or ahead per my last post

Last night truck sat Approx 12 hours from 7/17 9PM to 7/18 9AM, then began moving. As of 7/18 10AM it has made it to Spokane!

Yes!!! Your ETA per BNSF estimate is 3 days, 16 hrs…. We’ll see how accurate that estimate is………so far their estimates have been pretty accurate. I’ve been calculating them for the locations you’ve reported since your layover in Minot, ND and they all have shown an ETA of sometime this Friday. The below estimate shows no different.

Yep, but don’t forget about having more patience while waiting unloading and for truck transport!

@Tyleem111 , United Road Logistics refers to the Rivergate site as Ford Yard - Portland, again adjacent to Terminal 6.
