Has anyone found any real info on the July 1st start to the $4k tax rebate?

First I’m seeing this and now I’m really getting excited to potentially get a Lightning. Between the fed and state tax money plus the savings on gas/maintenance, it’s really becoming a no brainier purchase for me. Thanks for sharing.

That is about all I was able to find too. I have a 6/6 build date and have told my dealer that I want to wait for 7/1. I do not think that will be an issue though.

Based on historic ICE F-150 timelines, you should expect mid-to-late-July or perhaps even early August.

I've posted about this a couple of times. I wish i had done some due diligence to find this prior to ordering because I would have stepped up a model. But I'm not going to complain.

There are also supposed to be a limited amount for the $4k incentives. First come, first served. Once they run out it's over.

I'm just hoping to get a piece of the pie at some point. My fear is I order and take delivery, only to find out I'm on the outside looking in on the tax benefits. That will really irritate me, so I'm trying to stay as positive as I can. I found out my dealer only got 1 allocation for MY22. I'm sitting at #24 on the list currently.

Applications due by September 30, 2022 for this period. “Rebate Cycle”, sounds like this might not be a one time thing, but i guess we’ll find out. Also, have to purchase from an Illinois dealership. I guess that excludes me after looking a bit closer. 🤷‍♂️

I filed for mine today.

Bring a copy of the forms to the dealer when you go to pick up your truck (not sure my dealer was aware of the new rebate) - the dealer must provide their license # and the signature of a dealership representative in one of the sections of the form.

You'll also need to ask for an extra copy of the following documents: the buyer's order, a sales receipt or loan documentation showing the amount due was paid in full, and the registration document.

Complete the application, have the dealer sign & date their section, add the 3 dealer-supplied supporting documents, and also add an IRS W-9 (for individuals with a SSN, used so the government can tell the IRS they gave you $4k, so you can pay taxes on it).

Then mail it off - they cannot be submitted via e-mail, fax, or hand-delivered, they require a postmark so that if funding is exhausted, they know in which order applications should be served.

Thanks for the info. I have a 6/18 build date. Modules popped this week. Hoping for delivery soon.

The way I understand it is they take all the applications to the September date and then will make the decisions on who gets them and send them out, maybe…??

I'm not sure, it's too early to see. In the first week, they received 59 applications, of which 9 were low income and 50 were not low income.

I recall the solar PV rebates from years past doing something like this: they process the forms in the order they receive them, but schedule them for disbursement all at once. Not sure that it's going to be that way, I guess we'll find out.

Received a letter yesterday saying that my application was denied, but I could refile. It turns out that the application for title and license is not valid as an "Illinois Registration" to the IEPA (although it can be used to prove registration if pulled over).

I called the IEPA who said that you needed the actual Illinois registration document. Since my title was processed yesterday (looked up via the Sec'y of State), I drove to the local Sec'y of State Office and paid $3 to have them reprint me a registration card and resubmitted the app.

Thanks for that detail. I’m not sure how anyone gets that requirement from what they had on the website.

Have you heard anything more on your application? I sent mine in at the end of August and have heard nothing. I assume that they batch them all after the 9/30 date and before it reopens to new applicants, just would be nice to get some confirmation on the submission.
