I was hoping to see a little more energy on this thread, especially as new threads are popping up here and there
It seems like people are falling into at least these categories I'll list below. In these categories, I'm assuming everyone got the 22-23 model year transition private offer which is 7k for pros and around that for other trims (Also, I get that 22-23 model year transition and PL320-325 price protection amounts vary for different trims. Also not including PL325-330 2nd '23 price increase. I haven't heard much on that but figure price protection works the same where the price is as ordered, minus private offer)
1) Dealer acknowledge price protection at pickup, puts order through the incentives based on protected date and customer pays what they expected
2) Dealer does not acknowledge $5k (pro) price protection. They may or may not claim to know about it but refuse/are unable to put order through at protected price. They offer to refund the difference if Ford charges the protected price and they get that money. They will pass that money to the customer when it comes in if it comes in (~45 days later) - I say refuse/are unable because I don't think we have a way of knowing whether they truly tried to print the order with incentives based on the protected date.
3) Dealer does not acknowledge price protection. Not sure whether they're trying to put the order through with the protected date or not. They won't share information or commit to refunding money.
4) Dealer may or may not acknowledge price protection but won't put order through with it and says if Ford gives them money on your deal they're keeping it.
Based on discussions with Ford, for cases 2 and 3, I don't know if there is any way for them to know if a dealer returns that money to the customer or pockets it. Ford claims they're making it difficult for dealers to take customer money like this but haven't recently offered any evidence.
If there is enough energy on this it may be worth setting up a survey. Please reply if I'm missing another big category on here, and let me know where you are.
I am certainly curious if anyone in categories 2 and 3 have gotten a check. We have some category 2 responses already.
