Yeah, it must suck to Not know if you're going to have power when you get home... have rampant homelessness, crime and etc... I'd think displeasurable Ford dealers in Florida would not be a huge issue given the alternative of life in California ?

My question is how is the range impacted by towing, not what is the towing capacity. I saw that the towing capacity is 10k with the extended range battery, but much will the range be impacted. Pulling into a charging station with a 30’ trailer every 100 miles may be a deal breaker.

One of my biggest questions as well. I would expect too many variables involved for an official corporate response. I don't think we'll really have this answer until people/ YouTube bloggers get their hands on one and try to tow with it. But with an EPA rating of 300 mi, you know real world that's going to be less than that and then once you start towing a loaded trailer...... I'd say, plan on staying around town

1> How many lightning's will Ford make in 2022?
2> What is the price of the extended range option?
3> In reference to chargers at ford dealers:
- Will the charges be 150K ?
- How many ford dealers will have chargers by the end of next year?
- How many chargers will be at each ford dealership?
- Will the lobby be available to those charging their vehicles, during opening hours?
- Will charges be available at the dealers when they are closed?
- Will you have a web sight to show which dealers have charges, and if they plan chargers soon (with date of availability)?

If you put a truck-bed sized generator in the bed of the truck, is it technically a hybrid?
Could you charge the truck *while* you're driving?

I'm only half joking...

How much will the extended range battery add to the initial prices quoted last night?

Wish they’d announced it. I’m guessing $5k.

There are a few pictures of the features on the Ford site. When will the Build and Price be up on the site?

XLT with big battery and a $7500 rebate here we come

I wouldn't count on that rebate just yet. With the Mach-E there is a chance Ford runs out well before the L is actually delivered. Or at least much smaller rebate. Unless DC acts to extend the rebate....

Ford is currently at 120,000, far from the 200,000 limit. From the data they are only burning thru 10,000 a year. I am very confident that rebates will still be available for 2022 and 2023.

It's highly unlikely Ford runs out of rebates any time soon from the Mach-E. As of 12/31/20 they sold 126,641 of their 200,000 allotted cars. They will have to sell 75K eligible vehicles before the credit even starts to phase out, and when it does, it does so in 2 quarter phases.

The quarter they reach 200K and the following quarter after that, buyers still receive the $7.5K credit. The following two quarters it is halved to $3.75K, then halved again for two additional quarters.

So let's assume they hit it in July 2022 - all vehicles delivered in 2022 get the full credit. All vehicles in first half of 2023 get half the credit, second half of 2023 get a quarter of the credit.

Based on current tax code.

Ford claimed all Mach-E's are Sold out. With dealers sticking to ADM's I'm almost positive some of us with reservations for the lightning will fall in line for the $7500

  1. What is the range while towing?
  2. What is the plan for a charging network?
  3. Will we be able to pull into a charging station without unhitching?
