If it makes you feel any better, your 2025 Platinum at $85,000 is about $7,000 cheaper than a 2022 Platinum, which came with homelink buttons, two lights on the rear of the running board, a L2 charger, and a Tesla adapter.
If you were to add all of those back on, you would still end up being...
I'm no accountant, not even a finance guy but based on their Q3 results...
1) "Lucid delivered 4,078 vehicles during the same period."
2) "Q3 revenue of $336.6 million"
3) "Cost of revenue" (ie, cost to build the car) $670.20MM
It seems as simple as that. On average, each vehicle is selling...
Which makes me roll my eyes.
Non-EV Owners go...hope you carry a fire extinguisher for that and park it far away from the house.
But add a tank full of gas and an ignition source to that same batter and that concern dissipates.
I've owned a bunch of Fords, but Ford lost me in the early 2000s with their product line. The Lightning was THE truck that brought me back, and THE truck that I used to convinced multiple others to become a Ford family.
I know, it's only a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme.
I recently...
In my state, registration is 5x more expensive for an EV. They say it's for the roads since I don't use gas, but last I checked I pay taxes at Electrify America, Tesla, and to the electric company; none of which an ICE vehicle does but somehow it's my fault when the bean counters don't know how...
The recall was a software update IIRC and dealt with it not actually activating the brakes. I don’t think it gave faults.
Idk if this is useful but I would try a couple of things.
1) Software reset the truck via steering wheel.
2) Pull the 12V or fuse to hard reset the truck.
3) Change...
Utility charges roughly $0.18/kWh if I need to pull from it.
On solar it's $0.00/kWh.
With state generation incentives it's a total of -$0.15/kWh.
So total cost of charging while on solar is that I make $0.15/kWh....it's why I drive so much.
That's not including what the utility pays me for...
I have this conversation often, and it’s not just towing. The primary reason an EV doesn’t work for someone is…range.
Those same people usually drive maybe 60mi total per day, don’t tow, don’t road trip, wouldn’t have a legit reason to be limited by an EV.
For those who tow, an EREV would...
This, in decades of driving. I’ve seen a number of cars on fire, I would guess half a dozen; significantly more 18 wheelers, but I’ve never seen an EV on fire, only in articles.
That’s said, I would be interested in distribution. # of fires per EV sold, or per 100 miles driven. That may change...
Since you have both enabled, you also have to make sure you don't cause a conflict during initiation. If you're using the Tesla app, I try to take care to do these steps. I found it creates the most reliable start when not using PnC.
1) Pull up the app, load the stall I just pulled up to.
2)...
- I don't bring the key, if I do I put it in a signal blocking pouch.
- I use the app, and feel comfortable with using passcode as backup and door keypad. I turn off bluetooth and manually close out the app to prevent background refresh.
- I don't draw from 12V, I pull from 120V but I have...
