  1. Did you buy an extended warranty?

I totally agree with the above, I got a B2B which I negotiated lower than asked because I was aware of what Ford charged and only gave them a little mark-up which they agreed to. With the new tech and limited service availability, I also felt that this was a wise investment, although I thought...
  2. Required Dealer Service

America's Tire let me purchase a hazard warranty on these when only 5k on them for $140.00. They will replace a tire if it is damaged within 1 year. They do free flat fixes and rotate the tires (with new spin balancing and torquing) every 5k miles. Ford quoted me $50 to rotate once so, in...
  3. What do you keep in your sub-frunk?

I keep my level 1 charger cable in it along with a folding shovel and small ground cloth. I will also keep my NACS Tesla adaptor in it if it ever comes (ordered w/Ford 2/25/24)
  4. What do you call / name your Lightning?

    Old Blu (Azure Grey)
  5. Maintenance Schedule - 10k service

Yes, So does America's Tire do flat tire repair at no cost- (great promotional advertising on their part!). With the cost of the EV Tire replacement for a ruined tire at several hundred$, I felt the $146 was very reasonable and included every 5k mile rotation with spin-balance for free which...
  6. Maintenance Schedule - 10k service

I have my America's Tire do rotations on my Lightning every 5k miles.. The $146 replacement or repair from road damage on the tires also includes rotation every 5k miles (in which they spin balance and check pressures). As a mechanic, I have no problem doing the 15-20 point inspections, refills...
  7. Lightning Vs. all Others

I am surprised you only get 2.0 mi/kwh. I live in the mountains with 1300 ft of elevation to and from my home and still get 2.4 mi/kwh over 7,000 miles
  8. Dealer Praise - Randy Wise Ford, Ortonville, MI

I was, at first, wary of wait times for the two recalls on my 23 Lariat ER when I saw the numbers of vehicles lined up for service at Envision Ford of Oxnard, CA. They have an E-Vehicle stream for service outside of the standard ICE services. Both times, I was out of there 1 hour after...
  9. Amazon tonneau

Here are two pics of the installed Tonneau. (pardon the dirty truck- I use it)
  10. Amazon tonneau

Here is the link, as requested Amazon.com: Syneticusa Electric Powered Remote Automatic Retract Hard Tonneau Cover Fits 2004-2024 Ford F-150 (incl. Raptor/Lightning) 5.5' (67”) Truck Bed Aluminum Waterproof Off Road Rack Ready Retractable : Automotive. Right now, they have $170 off of that...
  11. Amazon tonneau

I purchased an electric tonneau Through Amazon listed below. This unit also works with racks. It was much less costly than Ford's cover . It was $1,600 delivered, taking me about 2.5 hours to install and wire with common tools. Awesome unit and remotes work well from cab! Syneticusa Electric...
  12. 2023 XLT Purchase

I have a 23 Lariat ER double motor and am extremely happy with it. I was concerned, at first, that it didn't have the Pro Charger with it. However, I learned that Ford sends it a few weeks later after I purchased the truck and it installed easily. I have the tow package and packages making...
  13. Charging Lightning ER on 50A Circuit with L2 Charger

I have a 60a NEM14 circuit wired to my garage but, with the direct-wired Ford PRO L-2 charger, I chose the 48a charging option which works fine for me for charging my 2023ER battery. When I want it charged fully, I just have it start after peak periods and charge until I am at 85%. My 2 Tesla...
  14. Why would I need a mobile charger?

Like many others, I keep it in my Frunk just in-case. I haven't used it since putting in my pro charger. I occasionally use public charging when on long trips. I have solar panels and 2 Tesla Power Walls with a NG 10Kw back-up Genset. However, if ever out of grid back-up which allows me to...
  15. I live on a mountain, charge to 90% and end up at 93-94% by the time I get down into town. If I charge to 100%, what happens to the extra energy?

I drive down 1,400 feet and 9 miles from my place in the mountains. Last week, I accidentally charged my truck to 100% and 317 miles. When I went down to town, the mileage showed 324 miles which is a few over the rated 320 miles. So it can charge a bit more than listed.
  16. How many Lightnings have you seen in the wild?

Here near Ojai, California, I have seen 4 Rivian R1Ts and only one lightning. Part of this is because of the affluent area here that can afford the more expensive Rivian. There are lots of Teslas and some other EVs on the roads. The other reason I haven't seen Lightnings is that they look...
