Just as an FYI, other manufacturers do address and communicate with the end customers behind the orders for this kind of thing, even for vehicles costing substantially less than the F150 Lightning.
Ford is the outlier here and very much behind the rest of the industry.
It all comes down to how quickly they can address the issue for the trucks are currently being held in transit. If we get to May/June and my truck is still sitting at the Port of Wilmington, about an hour from my house, with later production dates already delivered to customers, I will probably...
I suspect that it’s all of them, because this hold is devastating $-wise. Whatever SK did with their process, Ford isn’t going to risk a Bolt situation. Any truck released now is going to have a battery produced under the manufacturing process revisions.
I’d be looking for a 100/0 split in...
I just see this sheet and think about the number of Lightnings currently sitting in Dearborn, and in transit, that are all going to require some kind of remediation prior to delivery to address the battery issue.
Given an additional month for a vehicle that has already sitting at my local port for weeks, I am calling it — Ford is replacing the batteries in all of the trucks that are currently being held. That’s what’s happening here. SK made changes and Ford isn’t going to risk a customer Lightning fire...
Well, my original date of 2/6, which got bumped to 2/13, then 2/20, is now showing 3/21. They added a month this time, not a week. 🤬😭🤣🤮🤯
Go online and check your status.
Yes, it's about 50 miles for me.
It was originally scheduled for the week of 2/6, then 2/13, then 2/20, and presumably it will bump to the week of 2/27.
Greetings from Pennsylvania!
The first F-series pickup I owned was a red 1970 Ford F100 with 3 on the tree. Needless to say, the Lightning is a big leap from that truck. I can't wait.
That would be a logical conclusion. You and are in the same boat -- same trim and same extended battery.
Unfortunately, per my conversation with Ford this morning and talking to my dealer, those of us in transit are still on hold.
Yep. My Lightning remains at HOLD status at the Port of Wilmington.
Good to see that production is on deck to restart, but looking for answers on what this means for those of us waiting for delivery with trucks that have already been built. Ford loves to keep redirecting buyers to the...
My F150 Lightning was shipped on 1/31 and is currently being held in transit.
Ford's original estimate for delivery was the week of 2/6.
It was then bumped to the week of 2/13.
Ford announced the issue with that truck in a holding yard on 2/15.
At the end of last week, the estimate was bumped...
It looks like they are starting to release trucks that were stopped in transit. The delivery date of mine got moved up a week (it was supposed to be this week).
I know that the TeslaTap is an incredibly well made product, but in driving non-Tesla EVs for a few years, I've never had the need to use a Tesla destination charger. There's a lot of Level 2 charging out there if that's what you're looking for.
My F150 Lightning Lariat (extended battery) was supposed to arrive this week. Unfortunately, my dealer was able to confirm that it is part of the transit hold. I am super annoyed, but I have been waiting since I placed my reservation in 2021, so what's a couple more weeks. I'm hoping that it...
