  1. Anyone getting Concerned that Ford is not in on EV for the long haul

Seems like you and I are on the same page. All too often these car companies rely on the governments to step in and either put up a trade barrier to stop competitive forces from selling better tech to the end user or worse, they look for bale outs from the government to keep them running. Tesla...
  2. Anyone getting Concerned that Ford is not in on EV for the long haul

I agree with your comments on "oil" and "borrowed time". What I would like to see is a little more updates to software that will improve functionality of the truck and efficiencies. Ford has a very expensive battery pack in the truck. I am sure they can get more miles out of it and charging...
  3. Anyone getting Concerned that Ford is not in on EV for the long haul

Hello to everyone in the forum I am a bit of a junky for EV news, developments and new Tech. It will not come to anyones surprise that there has been a bit of a push back with the transition to EV. Loads of mis-information by people that have no clue about what they are talking about. Most...
  4. Do different Lightning models fast charge at different speeds?

Thanks for the update. I agree that the AC/DC is different with the SR battery compared to the LR battery, just not sure if it effected the DC/DC charging.
  5. Do different Lightning models fast charge at different speeds?

Does anyone know if the XLT fast charges at a different rate than a Lariat or Flash since the battery pack is standard and not extended range?
  6. Potential Ford Lightning Buyer. Would love to hear your advice.

If you travel less than 200 miles a day, the standard range works great. The extra cost of a large battery for so little range difference is hard to justify. The truck has more torque than the F350, drives like a dream and is quiet. Did I forget to mention the lack of exhaust. Plus the one thing...
  7. Potential Ford Lightning Buyer. Would love to hear your advice.

I agree with the drop in bed liner. I had the spray liner in my last truck and certain materials lile mulch can cause issues with the spray liner. Also the spray liner can chip away. Had that happen so I wen this time with the drop-in liner. Works better in my opinion
  8. Ford Intelligent Back Up

Anyone successfully install the battery backup system offered by the Ford Intellegent backup? I have a new Lightning and thinking about using it as a back up along with my solar panels. I am in Canada so that may cause an addition wrinkle. Thanks
  9. Android Auto Features

I recently moved from Iphone to Android and as a result Carplay to Android Auto. CarPlay would give you speed and battery level distance etc which is handy to see. I read that Anmdroid Auto was to do the same but for the life of me, I can not find battery level nor speed on the map. Anyone able...
  10. 12 Inch Versus 15 Inch Screen

I have the 15 inch screen on my MachE and enjoy the screen real estate offered. I agree that the buttons along with the 12 inch screen work well. My only concern is the floating second screen that is on the right hand side. Is there a way to get rid of it? Its blocks some of the map and seems to...
  11. Battery changes for the future?

Actually, this is what I am looking for, my understanding is the LFP batteries will charge faster, can be charged to 100% so it hits both road tripping and limited driving under normal conditions.
  12. Battery changes for the future?

Thanks for this, with the new battery, this makes it even more interesting since charging to 100% is not an issue. Now it will be interesting to see what speeds the battery can take. Mucha appreciate the article
  13. Battery changes for the future?

Actually, I am one of those guys that is a "road warrior" just want to get to the destination the fastest way. So as an example, 3 hrs of charging for a trip total of 20 hrs works out to 15% of the time charging. That is a fair amount of time. The average price to charge seems to be close to the...
  14. Battery changes for the future?

The longer road trips happen about four times a year. I am happy with my Ford, I had a F150 till I traded it in for the MachE. This is why I am asking about the after market and if there are any plans for a portable battery pack that would extend the range for the one off's. I go to Alabama in...
  15. Battery changes for the future?

Good morning to you all. My first post here. I drive a MachE presently, things are generally very good. I am looking to add a truck to replace my SUV ICE vehicle. Basically I need something to haul away yard stuff and when going on a longer trip, I want to be able to be in a very comfortable...
