  1. Trailer brake not working

That’s good. But unfortunately it’s also a coincidence. Ford has finally released the exact version of the software to be installed in the TRM to address the recall. It has not been posted to FDRS yet...
  2. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Yes. @iceman77 uncovered this issue early on. Instructions for the fix may be found here: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/ecu-module-programming-guide-using-fdrs.8249/post-167846. A link to the fix may also be found in Appendix IV to the programming guide on page one of this thread.
  3. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I guess we’ll see. I applied the same software on March 3. Mine still shows as recall pending. My concern for you is that the dealer reported your truck as complete and cleared the notice when they may not have installed anything and just signed off on it. According to an article in the...
  4. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I don’t know of anyone who has tested the Pro with the newest Ford vehicles. It might work with all of the modules, it might not. I have no information either way.
  5. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Software isn’t out yet. That’s why there was no change. You’ll need to go back sometime after the 18th when the software is expected to be out.
  6. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I can think of some pretty good reasons why Ford isn’t using the OTA mechanism to push out recall software for the TRM. The OTA mechanism isn’t reliable yet, this is a recall for a safety issue, and the government (NHTSA) is monitoring the roll-out. So, at least for now, Ford might have...
  7. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Keep in mind that, although the recall notice is out, the software is not. If you install any TRM software you find now, it’s likely the February release that addressed a different issue—not the recall.
  8. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Nooooooo! The Pro is the old version that Drew Tech made before they were acquired by Opus.
  9. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Agree completely. I started programming my own modules because the dealer told me I needed a new TCU. Wrong.
  10. APIM/CarPlay issue

No. The Power Up notifications are absolutely irrelevant to those of us who manually update the ECUs. All the Power Up notification says is the last update Ford pushed to the truck OTA. It has absolutely nothing to do with your truck’s level of updatedness. Ignore it. It means absolutely...
  11. APIM/CarPlay issue

Your APIM software is at the latest revision. If your APIM was shot, I kinda doubt that you would have been able to update it. Have you done a master reset and deleted the pairing on your iPhone and then re-paired from scratch? Are you seeing any DTCs for the APIM in FDRS?
  12. APIM/CarPlay issue

After the APIM updates, try doing a hard reboot and if that doesn’t work a hard reset. If you need to do the latter, you’ll also need to delete the pairing on the iPhone and start from scratch. That’s likely what Ford will tell you to do.
  13. APIM/CarPlay issue

If you had just updated the GWM, is it up and running now? Connected services icon looks right? Have you given all the necessary permissions in the connected services menu? Do you have the same problem both wired and wirelessly?
  14. APIM/CarPlay issue

CarPlay enabled on iPhone? Settings>General>CarPlay>Ford F-150>Enable CarPlay
  15. APIM/CarPlay issue

I’m not sure if this is related, but one problem I see immediately is that your connected services are not active. If you look at the icon just to the left of the time, you’ll see two opposing vertical arrows. There should be a location carrot in addition to these arrows. The truck is not...
  16. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Problem is it’s not that easy to be selective anymore. Many of the more recent updates are chained. You might think you need only one module update—the APIM or IPC for example—but it turns out be chained to three others you might think you don’t need. It’s all or nothing in many cases...
  17. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Way above my pay grade. I agree—this sounds like something you should have @Jesse-Infotainment look into. If you are having problems with a missing config file, he might be able to sideload it for you. He has had success slipping software into other stubborn modules, but I don’t know if he’s...
  18. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Speaking of Opus, it appears that the Mongoose for Ford is now back in stock on Amazon.
  19. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

What programmer was being used here? I kamikaze’d my way through a few updates, including the BECM, last month with the Mongoose and didn’t have any issues. Was the Nano choking on the BECM? At any rate, this is an interesting observation about Ford potentially locking down updates for...
