Ballpark costs to drive 70,000 miles:
Public charging .36 x 8613 kWh = $3100.68
Electrify America monthly plan $7 x 22 month = $154
Home charging 16,423 kWh x .0963 = $1581.53
5 months Duke energy home charging $19.99 x 5= $99.95
Tires and road hazard insurance at 40,000 miles = $1592

My daily commute is ~208 miles. Saved a ton of money since January '23 compared to feeding the twin turbo ecoboost, premium gas. Only maintenance has been tires at 40K miles and a master window switch. Out of the 7 F150s I've owned, this is the most reliable and the most fun to drive.
Just turned 1 year old, 36,000 miles. Only issue was generic master window switch replacement. No EV related issues yet. Daily driver for my commute ~204 miles round trip. Love this truck.
If I remember correctly the 20" general grabber are 50,000 miles. Got annual inspection last week and looks like I will make it to 40,000 safely. The torque of the truck spins all 4 wheels, so that's surprising.
I am one year in to my lighting, it's my first EV and my 7th F-150. So I am partial to F150s. But so far I have had 34,000 stress free miles. The only issue I've had is a generic F150 issue (window switch), not EV related. This is the fastest and smoothest driving F150 so far. And the savings...
GM is so vain, they think the price cut is about them, not the Cybertruck getting ready to launch:
" Officially unveiled back in May 2021, the Ford F-150 Lightning entered production more than a year before units of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV began rolling off the assembly line. However...
I'll take ProPower:
"I ask Chris Hamilton, a Controls Integration Engineer for General Motors, to go over the Chevrolet Silverado EV's Offboard Power System. The Offboard Power System allows the Silverado EV to offboard up to 10.2 kW of power to run job sites, power buildings during an...
Starting early next year, Ford EV customers will have access to more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada, in addition to the over 10,000 DC fast-chargers that are already part of the BlueOval Charge Network. This will give Ford EV customers unprecedented access to...
Good question, I charge my truck in driveway, by passing cord under garage door, I always think about pranksters unplugging overnight. The manual does not mention locking, that I have noticed. Just stopping by pressing unlock:
““Given the Ioniq 5 had only 8 percent charge remaining, we used the F-150 Lightning's 240-volt outlet to provide the vehicle with some extra juice to ensure it could reach the next non-Tesla charging spot. “
From Motortrend article:
We Plugged a Ford, a Hyundai, and a VW into Tesla’s Magic...
Great points, two words you can always say about people liking cybertruck over lightning, “show me” (lol). Completely agree on all you can compare to now, in the wild, is Rivian. The Lightning is my 6th F150 and I love it!
however TFL did do a good side by side:
Day 2 no issues (lol), just glad after all this time it got here. This is my 6th F150, PowerBoost before this one. Just when I thought the PowerBoost was fast...I got the Lightning XLT SR. Amazing truck.
