It will work whenever it is plugged in, charging or not. It will just attempt to pull the 9 kw from the evse. If you have a faster evse, the surplus will probably go towards charging the battery.
When I took the screenshot I had my evse set to 30 amps, which equals roughly 6 kw. It was...
I have found that to "precondition now" all you have to do is fully start the truck while it is still plugged in. You do need to make sure the HVAC is off though or it will just preheat the cab. You also need to leave the keys in the truck or it will turn the truck back off when you walk away...
Check out the last post on this thread of the same issue on the ICE forums. I am guessing that we also have a humidity sensor in our trucks that overrides this setting.

Maybe it works for dash, but it does not work for the floor vents. I'll try that, but I really need the heat at my feet. The rest of me stays warm with the heated seat and setting heat to 62 at my feet was still enough to keep the windshield defrosted with recirculated air. I've been fighting...
Thanks, This explains why my battery didn't preheat the last two times I set a departure time.
I ended up starting the truck while it was still plugged in, turning on cabin heat for 30 seconds and then turning the heat back off. After that the truck will warm the battery up to 65 degrees...
I have also been using this feature for at least a week in my 23 XLT SR. I feel so special to get if before everyone else. I am also glad to hear it will do preconditioning.
The predictions are fairly accurate for me so far. I did one trip with no wind and the estimate was a little...
I have 2 adapters and received one email. The 2 date codes are:
24152 - May 31
24225 - Aug 12
Based on this thread I am assuming it is the one manufactured on May 31st.
Order 6071 for my Lightning arrived yesterday. It had a 2 small scratches on it.
Order 6730 for a Mach-e still pending. I am curious if they will send me this second one or knock me down the queue a little.
I just got back from vacation hoping it would be on my porch but it has not arrived yet. I reached back out to support and it sounds like they are out of stock until next week.
Perhaps all of this impact mat version were too short for the Lightning and they had to change the specs at...
Not sure. $3500 is not a drop in a bucket, but this is the first new truck I have ever purchased. I have a cousin that owns a shop a couple hours from me so I might see what he says about hammering it out and welding the crack. It would all be hidden by the plastic trim piece anyway. If that...
Unfortunately I get to replace the front fender on my Lightning after a young person missed a stop sign and bumped into me going about 5-10 miles per hour. The damage is minimal, but the aluminum fender ended up cracking so they are going to replace it. The total cost to replace it is almost...
Thanks for the comparisons. The manufacturer finally got back to me. After sending them some more pics and measurements they told me that the connector material between the two pieces was too short. It was only 4.5" and is supposed to be 6".
They sent me a return label and it was picked up by...
I purchased the BedRug Impact Mat with tailgate cover from Realtruck and it seems too short and doesn't cover the entire tailgate.

I was wondering if anyone else has purchased this and can confirm this is by design. All...
Friends, when you live in the north you can't turn off the HVAC or the windshield will fog up in about 5 minutes. That is not a solution. I 100% agree, Ford we need to be able to set this temp lower now that we are using battery power instead of engine heat for defrost. My current solution is...
The ability to charge at greater than 11 amps on a 120v circuit. I can tell the difference between a 15, 20 and 30 amp circuit. I can set my EVSE to any amperage so let me control the charge rate. I'm not going to install a 240v outlet at every relatives house I want to visit in the rural...
Uggh, I wish I would have found this thread before I wasted so much time and money on adapters trying to figure out why I couldn't get my evse to charge faster than 11 amps.
Has anyone tried or know if it is possible to create an adapter that would change a TT30 plug into something that would...
