I'm pretty much at around 1.8 to 1.9 at that speed in the 40s on a straight run up the Garden State Parkway with no slowdowns. Pre-conditioning does absolutely nothing to change the consumption. 37 mile run, consistently consume 15% of the battery. To work, from 90% to 75%; home, from 75% to 60%.
Have to say with the Ford App, there is an array of useless messages, but a paucity of items that may be useful, such as a running history of the updates, the date of install and what they are.
Instead, we get a bunch of random messages and links which are there to get us to spend more money...
I'm wondering if the "creak" I heard is the same as the creak you and others heard due to the issue you and other spotted with the triangle piece. I'm still wondering what was causing the noise on my truck, but I'm guessing that the metal from the front quarter panel and the frame/A-pillar must...
I'm somewhere in the middle on this friendly debate. He has a fair point about the way Ford's rollout of updates is haphazard/shoddy. On the other hand, I'm more in your camp in that ignorance is bliss. It's like many other things that happen from people being on social media too long. As an...
I guess what "we" could do is go to the OTA forum and pin a list of running updates. "We" could charge for that valuable information and make a fortune. Then "we" could start a software company that does and tracks OTA updates for Ford, and sell it to them and get rich! ;)
Interesting thread. As usual on "social" (should be antisocial) media, there is a clear divide and some bickering over things. Pick your passion or topic: favorite sports team, exercise, diet, or heavens forbid, politics, and it's the same everywhere. You're wrong, and I'm right, and on and...
Question #1- is there a single place to find the running list of OTA updates to know that I am up to date?
Question #2- Is there a place that I can find which OTA updates have been downloaded and installed on my vehicle? Can't seem to find that in the updates section on the vehicle, or in my...
See my post immediately above. This was driving me absolutely nuts. In a previous life, I was an engineer in a factory, and I am a hound dog when it comes to troubleshooting. Try pressing back and forth against the front fender just below the junction at he A-pillar on the passenger side...

Funny thing. I had a squeak coming from my passenger side A pillar that took me quite a while to figure out where it was coming from. On an ICE vehicle, doubt I would have heard it. But in the ICE, every little noise is amplified. Even when some hopped up Honda Civic with loud exhaust is...
My public charging needs will be rare. IIRC, Tesla has a $12.99/month (or something like that) subscription plan.
IDK the charge per kWh of charge without a subscription, and I am not really concerned. I think I have seen around $0.50- which seems on par with cost of filling up on gasoline...
Hate the game and the referee (Ford), not the players!!!!!
Fair question, IMO. I recently started just watching the % State of Charge and doing the math to figure out my miles. But it is hard to ignore the miles, because it is so prominent.
On my morning commute yesterday at 45 F, according...
Yeah, and the info at the beginning of the trip should be good 2-3 hours later after one has been driving. Thanks for the tips, and this will be the way.
Do you pay through PlugShare, and is there an advantage to paying through them vs. ChargeAssist?
The rule of thumb of the internet and forums--the large majority of post are from complainers/negative people. Yes, some complaints are legit and should be voiced. But it is rare for people to post glowing, positive thoughts about something on internet forums/social media. Kind of weird, but...
Can one view Plugshare on the big screen while moving in case a redirect is needed? It appears PlugShare is a free app, is this correct? And do you pay directly through PlugShare?
Sorry for the newbie questions, as I said, I have lived a very uncomplicated charging life, using my Lightning as...
Always value your posts.
I've lived a simple charging life - drive from home to work, and charge at both places. Have yet to use a true public charger.
Planning for a road trip. The comment you made and the one above about being restricted from using charge assist while the vehicle is moving...
We always rent a pickup truck when on vacation in Arizona, and most often it is an F150 ICE. The experience feels completely different, and the ICE vehicle is LOUD. Driving the Lightning is like driving in a library on wheels.
Best vehicle I have ever owned. Owned 3 Audi SUVs, and it is not even close.
2022 ER Lariat. Luxurious, quiet ride, fast, practical, love the large screen. Charge mostly at a solar-powered home. Don't miss stopping at gas station one bit.
