I have a lot of complaints about the way the order of invites happened, for sure, but *effectively* the people who postponed (for XLT/Pro) are being treated as if Ford let them orderwhat they wanted originally at that price.
I’m honestly not sure why they didn’t just do that originally. Let...
Yeah, that's a big question:
Will the Private offer be shown on the order document online? Or we just hope the dealer doesn't pull anything at delivery? I feel pretty good about Granger, but it certainly would be nice if it was in the online order thing up front.
Yeah, I think the tow packages probably pay for themselves in resale value. Especially if we find out the max tow cooling is helpful for other thermal issues like fast charging and such.
Looks like they announced the Private Offer discounts above and they're big. The surprise could be dealers knowing that you're getting one and trying to get a piece of it for themselves, though.
Wow, if that's true and people with extended reservations really get those discounts, then I'm impressed.
I was expecting much less.
The conversion rate is going to be ~100% for people who extended reservations at this point. You'd be crazy NOT to buy one at such a big discount off of the...
There are several more variables than just "which dealer will get the most allocations", though.
They might have more allocations AND more reservations, in which case you might be in the same boat (waiting).
OR they might have more allocations, but they also have a disproportionate number of...
I don't think there was "a huge margin baked in" to the Pro, but yeah, this increase is about capturing some of the difference between the MSRP and the market value (which is much higher than MSRP) so that they're getting some of the pie that dealers are taking, now. It's only partly about...
It's required in order to be able to add the "Max Trailer Tow" package which gives extra battery cooling, so I'd personally probably get those options even if I never intended to tow because it may have some effect on resistance to thermal issues.
It also allows you to plug in an RV, or power...
Where did they officially announce this? I must have missed it. (This isn't sarcasm, it's a real question. I know it's hard to tell on the internet haha)
And to be clear, I'm asking about the claim that customers won't be presented the offer until the dealership.
I'd love Eruption Green, too. I'd go wilder than that, myself, but Grabber Blue or Cyber Orange is probably too much to ask. I'd even consider one of the highlighter yellow or greens the Mustang got.
But yeah, how many people are actually going to turn down a chance to buy a Lightning because...
The absolute cheapest Supercrew 4x4 gas F-150 is $43,450. Even without the tax credit, I think one could probably justify the Lightning Pro SR based on gas and maintenance savings, plus the charging in the bed, etc. With even just half the tax credit (assuming they don't get the battery material...
10,000?! Those people 100% should be fired. They're completely incompetent morons.
Even 40,000 or 80,000 are ridiculous estimates. They are just plain bad at their jobs.
That's not how Tesla works for current models. TONS of people have ordered Teslas over the last year or two and that locked...
People who were invited to order, but postponed may be *kinda* protected, but I guess the question is "how much?"
I'm HOPING they split the difference, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's something ridiculous like $500 off.
Yeah, I probably would buy Eruption Green if they made it. But they probably figure there's no reason to go crazy with the colors. Almost no one is going to buy or not buy a Lightning because of the paint options. Removing Atlas Blue is a weird choice, though, IMO.
Here are some pics of the 2023 F-150 in the Azure Grey color:
