After 22028 I had "ghost" GWM and GSM updates that wouldnt do anything when I downloaded and ran them. There is a little refresh icon next to the Download button on each of those updates. The GSM module is still a ghost update but the GWM module actually refreshed and let me get up to 22034.
Went and checked again before my latest license expired. Just like you said, another GWM and APIM update. 22034 now and those features are now there. So that seems to be the minimum. Appreciate it fellas!
Man, after all that time and money spent getting current, I feel pretty let down. No BC and I dont seem to have the camera views/screen cards while driving. Is there a setting or something to enable that?
For those that got through the IPC USB update, did the truck ever prompt you to remove the USB or restart the truck? For me, it went through steps 2/2 and then the update screen goes away, but never prompts to restart the vehicle or remove the drive.
A few things to consider, coming from someone that is almost finished updating.
1. Unless you have a dealer that is extraordinarily helpful, there is little chance they are going to do these updates. The one available now that requires a USB to get past 1.7.1 takes anywhere from 5 minutes to 30...
You need to just leave the USB stick plugged in. It may take a couple of weeks for the truck to decide to read it. Or, maybe have two USB sticks set up and switch back and forth between them after a couple of weeks.
For future reference, having a USB formatted with an MBR partition table does not seem to affect the likelihood of the initial APIM update kicking off immediately or not. The two USB's I've used are both MBR and neither caused an update to start. Cant say if using GPT would cause it though. That...
FWIW, I had formatted two USB's using this method, but it hasnt affected the willingness of the truck to read the USB. Doesn't appear to affect the outcome at all.
Unfortunately, I suspect the dealership will probably be in the same situation. They will stick the USB in and wait. Maybe it kicks off, may not. I doubt you want them holding onto your truck for a week trying to get the dumb thing to take an update.
I have been in the same boat as you, more or less. Just watching here what is working or not. Your looking at a minimum of $150 to do this ($100 for the Nano tool, $50 for a 2 day FDRS license), assuming you have a USB stick and a battery tender. I worked on it this past weekend. In my...
For what its worth, I tried to order a set of VenomRex's 603's this week. Their website shows as out of stock but I ordered from a vendor. The vendor called me back and said that VenomRex is out of stock on most of their wheels now, furthermore they have no further production runs set for 602...
