Sorry if this has been asked and answered somewhere else but I only got 6.1 on 10/19...looks like people are getting 6.2 by that point and now some on 6.3. Any ideas on how to get caught up? I get that they do rolling updates but I'm looking weeks and weeks behind some of you.
yes, 100% agree they don't have any inside info...but I thought it was notable that folks who are so well-informed were so confident about the implications of the announcement's phrasing. I do think their comments that double-port interfaces are very unlikely for cost reasons are exactly right.
Some really interesting discussion in this video with reference to the architecture behind the charge port. TLDR there is no way they do two charge options side-by-side, future Ford vehicles will be 100% NACS. This surprised me!
DEARBORN, Mich., April 5, 2023 -- Following the release of additional guidance from the U.S. Treasury Department, Ford Motor Company has confirmed that all three of its currently available popular electric vehicles as well as its plug-in hybrids are eligible for Inflation Reduction Act federal...
did you end up replacing them? The backing on one of mine popped loose today, wondering what I should do for replacement. couldn't even figure out what to call the fastener for a bit! there are two kinds, with the single-part plastic ones performing fine as far as I can tell. It's the two-part...
Wanted to start a thread to brainstorm ways Ford can improve software integration of existing systems inside the Lightning. One example: since I’ve set up HomeLink for my garage door , I should be able to open my garage via FordPass. What are some other ideas in that sort of vein?
Amazing suggestion, ty. Also don't worry @SmoothJ, the seat is so easy to clip to the hard points that we'll be able to move it around no problem. Even removing it to access the storage is not a big deal.
I do think charging networks are going to come as adoption ramps. There's going to be a ton of $ (both revenue and subsidies) on the table, and it's not hard to see long-distance drive charging locations near freeways doing all sorts of innovative business model stuff.
for sure! I do also think everything that's gone "wrong" with the Lightning roll out is 100% fixable. I'm hoping this way of framing it (product is sick, delivery and production communications was where things broke down) helps Ford focus on areas of improvement that are achievable.
Totally. And the thing that's frustrating about it is that the delays are not primarily because of something out of Ford's control (chips!) or inherent to EVs (eg, a recall of a new tech) but are instead because they're on-the-fly changing how people order vehicles and that's causing a lot of...
just came here to post about it! glad you found it on your own.

If anyone is interested, my editor at Business Insider practically demanded that I write up the experience. I think it came out well and captures the challenges most of us have shared in actually getting our hands on trucks...as well as how amazing the experience of owning and driving is.
It...
Very proud of the humble and dead-simple mod I threw in my Lightning today. Baby is due in January (our first) and will ride home from the hospital in style.
