Sold my 2023 Lightning back to Ford when I had the chance. I travel from NJ to VA and SC. The lacking charging infrastructure down south and inability to tow anything killed the Lightning for me. Love the big pickups and the RAMCharger is something I Will seriously look at.
I also got the notice. Interestingly my Lighting is in the middle of an HVB module replacement. Has been at the dealership for over a month. Not sure I trust this vehicle anymore.
I feel for the dealers and service departments. Ford is pushing these vehicles, with known reliability and quality issues, out of the factory and into the consumers hands with a fix on failure strategy. Ford gets its money and the consumer and the service departments get to deal with the post...
Having same issue. Both of my ford pickups (Lightning and Ranger) in the shop for weeks. These Lightnings where introduced with issues and I’m sure Ford knows it. Get the sale and fix on failure and let the customer deal with the impact. Reliability is a very big issue with Ford. I will be...
Agree. Ford is pushing these Lightning out knowing there are issues and will fix when they fail. Puts the burden on the customer and dealers. I would hope the NHTSA would get involved.
Well just got off the phone with the service manager. It’s the HVB. Says no idea when parts will be available, it’s controlled by Ford. So I’m in the process of moving to SC in September and my Ranger is in VA for transmission issue and Lighting in NJ with HVB issue. Come on Ford, what can you...
I sense the issues (HVB reliability and lack of spares in the supply chain) with these failures and the impact to the customer is going to catch up with Ford sooner than later.
Same thing happened to me this morning. At dealer now. Seems to be a common issue and lack of experienced technicians and supply chain making for ridicules wait times for repairs. Last month hit with the $10k depreciation in one month due to price drop and now this. Ford has a lot of quality...
Similar issues. Charged to 90% on FMC. Pushed button on charging port (1st time I did this). Unplugged and received multiple faults when initializing vehicle. 3 mths and just over 5k miles. Frustrating part is Ford does not have the service infrastructure or supply chain to address these issues.
Clearly understand the financial numbers and how Wall Street sees things is what motivates big business and their executives. I expected rebates would be announced to position Ford with the pending competition vs a huge MSRP reduction. Based on precedent set on Mach e in March I felt we, those...
