I'm gobsmacked! I would have bet that a 1 pedal drive fault was a software issue whose solution could have involved OTA resets. I'm at a loss to try to figure out how a mechanical issue with the motor would trigger that problem.
That was my experience. I hadn't been to the dealership for 30 years, but my Lightning lust drew me there. I'd only experienced sleaze & upsell b4.
The exact truck i had submitted a build for online (Max Tow, Extended range) was sitting on the showroom floor (even the color was my build)...
I've spent decades dissing dealerships. My local one has totally reformed that view. I'm on a fist name basis with a lot of people there. They have been very fair. The Service Dept is outstanding. Love bein' a Fordie.
I have been unimpressed by the incentives the mothership provides to get techs EV certified. They don't get that much more pay. Also, the dealership tech is legacy at least at my dealer where download speeds (& huge part of most EV service) take forever.
There's also a cultural issue. The...
Many Ford truck buyers (especially for F250 & above) are used to submitting builds and waiting at least a couple of months. Spending $70K+ makes many quite picky about configurations.
The Lightning is awesome in snot -- best of the many 4WDs I've owned over the years. The torque is ungodly, particularly in Sport Mode which I use to max out regen braking. It also tows great -- for short distances. To start with, it's only a 150. I still keep a 5.7ltr ICE for long (&...
I absolutely adore my Lightning. I could have sold it immediately and made $10K+. So glad I didn't.. As you know prices for used Lightnings have fallen a great deal. As an investment, I'm probably under water, but I have no plans to sell. That may change a year or so after next gen versions...
Congratulations. Thanks for posting. Mine is supposed to arrive next week.
I spoke to the company and was satisfied that it i is in regular contact with Ford. Integration with the Pass app will happen once the Ford/Tesla software is debugged. It is supposed to be seamless -- I bet that is...
This is a 64 amp charger. Nothing wrong with that, but if you got Ford'sCharge Station Pro, it will deliver more charge if you install it. I get over 35mi/hr on mine -- its on a 100Ah circuit.
Agreed. I have never owned a Ford pre-Lightning I am so impressed with its type of support and interest in feedback. Our Tesla is the opposite. It's great in many respects, but couldn't care less about me. Trying to interact with TSLA outside its very locked-in app is a fools errand.
I despise Telsa infotainment. The fact that t won't support CarPlay/AndroidPlay integration is a reflection that they treat customers as cattle and have zero interest in listing to feedback.
Tesla has great coding chops and everything works well. I much prefer my Lightning's much friendlier...
I agree. I lucked in to my Max Tow Lariat by buying a showroom mannequin @ MSRP. I had to wait 6 mos to take possession, but there were two price increases during that period that I avoided.
I SO love this truck and, truth be told, don't need the max tow, but like having the extra cooling...
No surprise here at all. This will be the case until new facilities are commissioned at Blue Oval in KY/TN. I believe that's slated for late next year or early '25.
Cost won't decline until new manufacturing efficiencies are secured. We'll also see the benefits of insourcing components. I...
FWIW, I took the suggestion of someone here months ago to use the Sport mode not to get more zip (though that is fun), but to increase regen. It's great, highly recommend.
I am a first-time Ford owner thanks to the Lightening. I live in a state with laws that are a product of dealership lobbying and are so strict that Tesla has to locate on native locales. I hate the restraint of trade under the guise of "consumer protection". I expected my experience with a...
