I love it for when I'm pulling a trailer, because one can adjust the 'mileage' that the vehicle gets. In my case, I set the car to 0.9 mi/kwh @ 65 mph when pulling the trailer. ABRP is crazy good at estimating battery left at the destination, and accounting for hills, weather, etc.
This is an interesting discussion as I've often wondered about similar issues.
With my old tow vehicle, the travel trailer would clearly draw power from the truck when I put out the trailer slide. With the lightning, that doesn't seem to be the case - or at least if the trailer is drawing...
I'm curious if there is a similar way to reboot the Instrument Cluster Panel. Mine went blank the other day, and I was wishing for a way to 'reboot' it.
Anyone know if there's a way?
I absolutely love mine. I bought it because I needed a new tow vehicle (I have a 6500 lb, 30' travel trailer), but I didn't want to buy another gas guzzler. The lightning tows beautifully.
The thing is, it's such a great vehicle, that even if I didn't need a tow vehicle, I'd still want my...
As the owner of a travel trailer for the past 10 years, here's my thought when it comes to warranties on them:
YOU are the warranty.
What I mean by that is that if you are going to own a travel trailer/RV, you need to be able to fix a lot of it yourself (the exception being the engine and...
I've noticed that while campgrounds can handle short 'bursts' of electrical need (e.g., think about when the AC turns on while you are running the microwave; there's a very short draw that goes over the 30 amps), the truck cannot.
Your truck can probably handle the same sustained loads that...
Trailer - 2015 Forest River Wildwood 26TBSS
Loaded weight ~ 6500 lbs
Height: 11' with air conditioner
Average efficiency - 0.9 mi/kw at 65 mph.
Regularly tow up to 200 miles from home; usually requires one charge on the way.
Question for those that are in the know: if a module is updated, either OTA or at a dealership, and I have made changes to settings in FORSCAN, will that update overwrite those changes, or will they remain?
I was able to charge at Tesla Superchargers before I got the update. The update just made it so that I could 'plug and charge' (plug in and charge without having to activate things in the Tesla app).
I had similar problems to OP when I first tried charging - I didn't have the adapter...
Yeah, I use the 360 camera in my XLT basically every time on park. Can I park without it? Sure! But the cameras sure make it a whole lot easier to get the truck where it needs to be.
I'm disappointed with what seems to be a lot of 'nickle and dime' removals on the newer trucks. Ford is...
I got it to work on my 2023 XLT ER
Check your numbers carefully. At first mine wouldn't work - in fact the auto high beams disappeared and the 'bending' lights went away as well. Turns out I missed that second '1' on HCM 734-03-02. When we're playing in FORSCAN, it's rare to change two numbers...
I don't, but I'm sure it's substantial. If you plug into the 50 amp plug, you get 30 amps at 240 V or 7.2 kw. If you plug into the 30 amp plug you are only getting 12 amps at 120 V or 1.44 kw.
From the practical side, I can say I've frequently plugged my truck into the 50 amp plug at the RV park while the travel trailer is plugged into the 30 amp plug. It works great!
From a theoretical side, the Mobile Power cord only draws 30 amps, and you can always plug something that draws fewer...
