The catch is the LV battery only charges when the truck is actively charging or being actively driven. I had a case where I parked the truck at 80% SOC, plugged in , and set to keep at 60%. The HV battery did not deplete to <60% in the 6 weeks it sat and, thus, the LV battery never got...
I love your setup but I'm having a hard time understanding the placement of the 120V part. Did you hardwire the NOCO to a male pinned receptacle so you can plug an extension cord in? Where, exactly is it mounted? "on the side behind the grill," but which side. I don't recognize that filter...
I believe you are correct. I left my truck parked for 6 weeks with the HV battery plugged in, but, because the voltage never dropped below the 80% I had it set for, the HV charger never kicked in. The LV battery then died and I was dead in the water upon my return.
AFAIK, the LV battery ONLY...
Thanks for the link. Well-written article. The TL;DR is the final paragraph:
"For drivers, the most immediate step is more basic: reading update notes carefully, asking pointed questions at the dealership or service center, and recognizing that in the EV era, a truck’s performance is no...
After reading some posts on r/FordLightning about HV battery coolant being low, I went to check under the frunk. I started on the left, and after turning a bunch of these plastic things a quarter turn, pulled the cover off. Double whammy: battery coolant reservoir must be on the other side...
Edit - F/U. Got about a mile out from dealership and DTC popped again. This time just a wrench and "Service Vehicle Soon." Drove back to dealership and this time said....."Shifter." Part is back ordered (of course). "We'll call you when it's in." I almost bought a rotary shifter just in...
There is a "pseudo" recall on the shifters (CSP? Customer Service Program or something like that). After a bit of negotiation I got my local dealer to swap it. Of course the parts are on back order! The "magic date" (I think) is a build date of 10/18/24. My truck's birthday is 10/10/24...
Genius. But wouldn't it be better to have the heater in the bed just in case the timer gets spastic and keeps it on? Or is 100 watts not enough to worry about?
Edit: Your link is for a 200 watt heater
Yep. As of today you can add me: 2024 Flash ER build date 10/24 3K miles Service Vehicle Soon, Wrench Icon, Powetrain Malfunction/Reduced Power. "what should I do?" A pwertrain or AWD fault has been detected, contact your authorized daler as soo as possible. Truck seemed to drive fine...
Since many seem to not actually have a problem, is there any reason I can't just check if the nut is still there, put a torque wrench on it and check and if OK call it a day? Anyone know what the torque is supposed to be?
That looks like a ton of fun. I paid the same TEN YEARS AGO for a ZERO FX. Need to look into this company a bit more. FWIW, I still love my Zero. Especially when I'm sitting next to some old, fat dude on a Harley and he makes a lot of noise and I goose it off the line and leave him in the...
My experience was the opposite: if I remove the NACS plug first the adapter get stuck in the truck. I have never had trouble separating.
my experience was the opposite: if I disconnected the Tesla nozzle first I couldn’t get the adapter out of the truck. I didn’t have any trouble separating...
When I bought my truck (2024 Flash) the Ford adapter, which I believe is a version of the Lectron, wasn't available. I got an A2Z adapter from Canada and (with some quirks) works fine at Tesla Superchargers.
I just received an email from Ford that their adapter is available for $200. I can...
