So not in cold temperatures which would decrease the battery life. Like I said no context not sure why you are getting so worked up over a valid question. Nodody knocked the Lightning here just asking valid questions.
You will be OK I promise.
People are getting their vehicles in a few months and you are ok not knowing the range when towing? Or towing in cold temperatures? Or towing up hills?
When do you think that information should be supplied to the consumers?
Nobody doubts these trucks can pull in those conditions the biggest question people have which not surprising was excluded here was the range at which these EVs can perform this task.
When the dealer called me he asked if I had any questions. I said nope I don't expect to see my Lightning until 2023/2024. His reply was "I wish more people understood that".
Probably shouldn't have gone in expecting to grab one in 2022 no matter what the dealer may have told you.
Then you move up to an xlt and there is a $10,000 swing in difference.
ICE XLT MSRP = $44,890
EV XLT MSRP = $54,669
Lariat is almost $14,000 Difference
Platinum $31,000 Difference
But like others have pointed out buy the cheapest stripped down EV you can get I guess...
There isn't inventory for EVs or ICE right now for gas prices to make that big of a difference. By the time inventory rolls around this current administration will most likely be gone and we will be back to $2-3/gal gas.
That's the problem we are in this position because of one side wants...
I'm on the list so not anti ev as some claim but I'm also looking at this without rose-colored glasses. EV have a lot of benefits but there are a lot of moving parts that still need a lot of work.
My son drives quarter midget race cars, we pull our trailer 100+ miles one way for races...
ICE can go farther while driving normal, or towing or going offroad.
Comparable ICE vehicles have a lower MSRP.
F150 Powerboost can power a house.
When the battery fails that's a hefty price tag.
Both have their positives and negatives. It really comes down to what you want.
The Ford Lightning is only better at one thing over an ICE Ford and that's only if going green is high on your list of priorities. Again Democrats which all msnbc is will push gas price as high as they can to push their agenda.
In three years if the tides turn again which if things continue...
There is no "putting politics aside" when you post something from MSNBC. Just like all Democrats which is what MSNBC represents they want $7,8,10/gal gas. There are some in here who are also cheering $7 gas which is pathetic but it's who they are. It's their plan, it's why gas prices were...
Anit-EV noise yet their only solution is for everyone to go buy a Nissan Leaf.
Might want to work on your talking points a little, if your only solution is for people to buy a crappy, stripped down Nissan Leaf you won't win many arguments.
That is what I said and Little Redlightning got all mad and told everyone to go buy a Nissan Leaf and then you jumped on his bandwagon, yet we are saying the same thing...Go figure.
Umm no it proves "your point" is hilarious...that long line is due to snow NOT gas. All those cars once the snow melted 24 hours later drove away and their occupants stayed warm thanks to their gas. IF those cars would have been EVs, their occupants would be out of charge and stuck for a few...
You do know that is the case with every vehicle right? ICE and EV vehicles are hard to come by right now, I mean used cars are hard to come by. So saying there is a huge demand on 150k Lightnings over the next 3 years when Ford sells almost 900K (2019 last normal year) ICE F150s per year isn't...
Im not mad about anything, you are the one going off the deep end about a negative comments about EVs.
Again, I have my name on the list for a new Lightning, I also understand it will be end of '23 or '24 before I ever see it though. There is nothing wrong with being critical of some people...
I am not sure why you are so angry about that comment. You little friend Little Redlightning who ran away made a comment about it too, in my very next post I clarified what I meant....
"(puts the price over $20K), so yes 90% of American can't afford, don't want or it is NOT a practical...
