I too live in the south. Mine was doing that and I reduced the maximum charge rate to 64kw and it seemed to cure the issue.. Even at that, the charge cable is very warm when charging, but it does not cut on and off.
As follow-up to this thread. After about a month of charging and getting a reduced range, one of my battery modules malfunctioned and vehicle went in limp mode. After almost six weeks in shop, they replaced battery module, and the vehicle is now charging to a range of 300 miles. So, beware...
Same thing happened to me. Mine has been at dealership 2 weeks waiting on battery replacement. They did give a Escape loaner, but I need something with a trailer hitch (messing up my perfect retirement plan). I try to golf 3 times a week and fish 3 times a week.

It could be the overheating. I'm in the south and it has been over 90 degrees lately. When it is not charging, there is a green light on the right side.
It does not seem to matter what the SOC is. It does it t 30% as well as 80%. The Ford Pass app does say that it is plugged in but not charging when it is in the off cycle.

I picked up my new Platinum Lightning last Friday. I traded in a F150 Hybrid which I dearly loved. I noticed that the trailer light check is no longer available on the Ford Pass App. Has anyone else experienced this?
