I just got my Talons skid plate... I must say, I'm impressed. Seems like quality work to me.
I won't get a chance to install it until next week, but it sure looks beefy enough to convince any would-be thief with a sawzall to move on to the next victim.
I'm not thrilled about adding another 25...
Thanks... I'm headed back to the Southeast... TN, GA, SC or FL.
As for your daughter and the 8-day roundtrip drive to CA... (1) when she's in the truck with you... it's fantastic bonding time (we used to sing songs from the 80's at the top of our lungs!), and (2) it will be the quickest 4 years...
I may be imagining things, but it seems that if I set my cluster display to *ANYTHING* other than "My View" (i.e. one of the tripmeters), then the display always returns to what it was when I shut the car off. But, if I turn the car off with one of the displays that I reached via "My View", it...
The RCI kit comes with both the front replacement skid plate and the midsection plate...
According to the write up on the Stage 3 website:
Provides More Protection for your Oil Pan and Power Steering System
The stock skid plate (if your F150 even has one) does its job, but it's not the most...
I've been digging around the site and seen a few posts about skid plates and using them to also protect from "cat" theft.
Talons actively advertises their's as Anti-Theft protection, but RCI doesn't.

At 60 years old, I am selling my house in California and heading back East. I'll be loading up what I need to live on in the back of the truck, point it East and go. Since I'll be staying in hotels & AirBnB's for a few months, I am a bit concerned on the security of my truck. Now, I know that...
Ok... that was quick... (and not unexpected)...
I think I'll just forgo the TT and load up the bed with CostCo bins of stuff and "AirBnB" around the country. :-)
That'll lead to my next thread... "How to secure my truck" (i.e. secure the Flex Armor tonneau cover, tailgate and catalytic...
Paylod capacity: 1,434 lbs
It'd just be me (220 lbs) and a small dog for passengers... maybe another 600-800 lbs of "cargo" (stuff I just need to live on while I travel), which could be spread between the truck and the TT.
GVWR 7,350 lb.... so I think I'd be pushing it with this trailer.
Sorry for the newbie question about towing... but my PowerBoost is my first truck, and I have never towed anything.
(Yes... if I do this, I promise to post a warning to the group with my route so that everyone can steer clear!) :-)
I am going to be heading East from California soon and I am...
At 6' 4", I thought about removing my running boards, but quickly realized that if I did that, I would "slide" out of the truck. When you do that, the side of the driver's seat breaks down *MUCH* more quickly than if you get out by standing on the rails.
Just my 2¢
Is your phone close to capacity? It seems that if it needs to make room for anything, files shared via iCloud are one of the first to go.
When this happened to me... I just cleared a bunch of unused apps on my phone, ran the "FordWidgetTool" script again to update everything and it was all...
Anthony, please correct me if I am wrong here...
Note... there are two different values:
Last Checkin - This is the last time your TRUCK sent data TO Fordpass
Last Refreshed - This is the last time the widget refreshed the data FROM Fordpass.
Last checkin is labeled "Updated" in the widget...
When I was having issues, I deleted the FordPass script in scriptable, then went to the "Files" app, went into the Scriptable folder and deleted the "FPWModules" folder. THEN, I went back into scriptable and used the "FordWidgetTool" to get the latest beta version.
I know there are a couple of threads about what catalytic converter anti-theft devices are available for our new F-150s. Those threads are quickly taken over by folks talking about their guns... and not so much about answering the question.
This plate seems to be the most popular "device"...
I should have just kept my damn mouth shut. Sure enough... last night the damn menu appeared again out of the blue. I had gone 2 weeks without it popping up.
Crap.
