I never quite figured out how to pull the VIN from the website so just went to the dealer to get the sticker. Looking at a 8/10 blend date.

Ford F-150 Lightning ✅ 8/8 Lightning Build Week Group 1659966382793

Dealer is telling me to expect delivery mid-September.

Certainly hoping I'm not impacted by any potential tax credit phase out! My understanding is that in the likely scenario Ford does hit the cap this calendar quarter (Q3 2022) the phase out doesn't begin until Q1 2023. Anyone know if that is correct?

A lot is most likely going to change… senate just passed a sweeping clean energy deal, house will likely pass within the week. If your MSRP is under 80k, you are all set for this year and next. After that, it gets complicated! Ive read a few articles, but whether one qualifies for the “old credit” vs the “new” credit on purchases through 2022 doesn’t seem clear to me. But that $80k MSRP limit for the new credit is right at Fords sweet spot and the Lariat ER

My Blend Date is tomorrow, so it looks like we're both rolling through the factory at the same time. My dealer is in Staten Island, so they should arrive about the same time too.

You will be fine. As long as you take delivery by 12/31, you will not be impacted by the new tax credit rules. Additionally, the phase out of credits didn't begin until the quarter after reaching the "old" 200,000 limit so you would have been fine regardless. I feel bad for all of the people pushed to 2023 and are now faced with a.) the price increase and b.) the most likely ineligibility of federal tax credit. I'm getting a Platinum and that would have amounted to a $13,500 difference for me!

New law, when passed, will only apply to deliveries AFTER 12/31/2022

I don't know you can say that with any certainty. I have read news reports suggesting that some items may apply in 2022 as soon as the bill is signed. To be candid, I don't know which is right be I feel very uncomfortable about the possibility of not receiving my $7500 rebate (or owing it back in the event of an audit).

I personally reached out to my dealer requesting that we put in place a purchase order to protect my rebate.

Starting at page 402 of the bill:

TRANSITION RULE.—Solely for purposes of the 19 application of section 30D of the Internal Revenue Code 20 of 1986, in the case of a taxpayer that—
(1) after December 31, 2021, and before the date of enactment of this Act, purchased, or entered into a written binding contract to purchase, a new qualified plug-in electric drive motor vehicle (as defined in section 30D(d)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as in effect on the day before the date of enactment of this Act), and

2) placed such vehicle in service on or after the date of enactment of this Act, such taxpayer may elect (at such time, and in such form and manner, as the Secretary of the Treasury, or the Secretary’s delegate, may prescribe) to treat such vehicle as having been placed in service on the day before the date of enactment of this Act.

Plenty of other car forums discussing this.
