If you go to vehicle history you can see everything the tech has done in FDRS. I have helped many folks with their dealers telling them what they are doing wrong.

Now.. as far as an update. There hasn't been any module updated. They ran a 360 Camera alignment. That is it.

I was going to congratulate you on the payment reimbursement also.. I was beaten to it.
Hmm - Then I wonder what the SA was talking about. Is there anything else interesting in there about my truck? It has never gotten an OTA update..

Not sure. But if there was an update it had to go through FDRS.. I can see every single button the tech presses. I made sure to go back to December.

Well it’s easy in fdrs for the techs to see what there is. It’s in the software update tab: to be honest techs should be checking that regardless especially for job 1 trucks

Can you see the line for the speaker? I know I'm not completely crazy, it 100% sounds different than before - the center channel speaker isn't as pronounced as it was before and the dash speakers are producing more noise and the highs are better - they didn't mess with the EQ, it was the same as it was when I took it in.

Did you have just stereo and they set it to surround sound on?

No, I've always had it on surround. I drive the truck a fair amount and am very familiar with how it all works and the various audio settings. I dropped it off Monday morning - the SA said they did something, but at this point I don't know what - and when I picked it up there was a noticeable difference in how the whole system sounded. Like the overhead speakers sounded different, the highs were better, the center channel didn't sound as muffled and loud and blended better with the left and right speakers on the dash. The reasons it was in the shop was "reverse brake assist not available" after getting line-x installed and a blown passenger door speaker. After I picked it up, I texted the SA and asked if they did anything because it sounded way better and he said they did a software update.. But here they are saying that they didn't so I don't know what they did. Since they didn't have the speaker in stock - that was never replaced and it continues to rattle on certain bass frequencies. They ordered a replacement door speaker and that is supposed to be in soon. They claim that they did a software update for the reverse brake assist because there was a bulletin for it. The message has gone away so it's fixed.

No - it was the passenger door speaker. The overhead speaker just sounded better, before depending on the quality of the songs played it would crackle at high volume and now it doesn't. I tested it with all the same songs I always listen to and it's noticeably better. My longstanding theory on the crackle was that it wasn't the speaker itself but a shitty DSP algorithm that poorly handled certain frequencies for the surround effects. It appears to my ear that something is different.

In a truck owners opinion; should this be done? Yes.

Do I expect a flat rate technician who, only gets flagged for fixing a verifiable problem, with procedures directed by the workshop manual or technical service bulletin, to take the time to do what you’re suggesting… for 0.3 hrs of pay?
Not usually.

I still think they did something - I don't know why the SA would say these things if they didn't do anything.

It would be great to find out what they updated.
In theory, it can only be the AIPM, or the DSP right? Those are the only things that would affect sound quality. IDK. I only really listen to music from my phone and I plug it in, so logically that makes sense.
