now, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning order banks will open tomorrow, August 9th, 2022.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning will enter production on the very same day as its ICE counterpart, which is built at both the Dearborn Truck plant and the Kansas City Assembly plant – October 10th, 2022. Due to strong demand that quickly exceeded Ford’s production capacity, a number of 2022 F-150 Lightning orders have been pushed back to the 2023 model year, when the automaker anticipates that it will be able to produce 150,000 units of the EV pickup.

Unless you have a reservation you won’t be able to order until either late MY23 Or possibly MY24. There’s still 185,000 reservations to go through and ford will likely only make half that for non fleet next year at best. I have a first hour reservation and I’m figuring I’ll still be waiting for awhile.

I’m hoping ford doesn’t take new orders on the bronco either for 23

Are we sure the order banks are opening? The Maverick order banks were supposed to open 8/2 and got pushed to "sometime in September".

I have a first hour reservation and I’m figuring I’ll still be waiting for awhile.

I hear ya. I reserved mine in the first five minutes and just got it last Tuesday. The wait was maddening. :/

Ford really messed up by even having a reservation system if they were just going to give ‘em all to zev states. Estimates are 10-15,000 by years end and people who reserved in the first 5000 aren’t getting them.

I’ve said this in other threads, but my dealer said they were getting 23 this year and had 500 reservations at that dealership alone. I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be really pissed at Ford’s system. :/

I just don't understand that math. If Ford builds 80,000 for reservations this year (150,000 rate by end of 23 with unknown going to fleet) that should put them at 50% filled assuming a 90% conversion rate. Under that poor math and logic a dealer with 500 reservations should have definitely filled more than 35 total. I want my lighting but at this point the longer i wait the better lol, We just got the wife a 2011 Mustang GT (5th mustangs a charm???) so i kinda want that sorted out and paid off first.

Possible that means you are getting bumped to an early 23'? Or do you have a scheduled date?

My dealer indicated tomorrow when I visited today to get my VVR. So add that to the confirmation pile.

Yep me, too. Wife agrees, we'll get a 2nd one if they offer it.
