Today I drove from Moreno Valley CA to San Diego CA which is 90 miles one way. I charged to 100 for only the 5th time since having the Lightning, I charged overnight at 5kw rate which would have me at 100 SOC at my departure time of 9am. The lightning really takes a long time to get to 100, it request 1 kw close to 100. My drive to San Diego was at no more than 70mph on cruise control with no stop and go traffic on a 68-70 degree day. I arrived at 73 SOC which was surprizing to me because I've done this trip before and all I remember having like 50-55 SOC to the same location. I think the other times I might have unplugged at 99 SOC but this day it actually stopped at 100.
On the way back we had lots of stop n go traffic and the SOC was 34 on return, usually I get back under 20. Today was a good day traveling to the beach with my wife and our 2 puppies with the lightning riding so comfortable and efficient.
Not sure how lightning is getting better with time but I'm loving it and just wanted share with the Lightning committee.
Also notice at 100 SOC the GOM shows 266 miles..

May be the temps were higher this time? Or wind was helping?

I know my summer numbers are great.

Maybe the fact that I didn't use sport mode everyday last year, sport mode gets me the best efficiency around town and hwy miles.
The weather was really nice with very little wind and 70 deg temp, but it's been that way before.
