First post on the forum, i wanted to provide some info to maybe help out some others since i looked for many questions the forums helped me on. I have a 2021 4x4XL and i recently installed 285/70-17 SL tires on it. No lift or mods. Some feedback:
-Did not notice any rubbing in front during normal driving, did not offroad yet but seems to have decent clearance.
-There is still clearance to the upper control arms, although it's close (can slide my finger between but its tight. I doubt you can fit chains, but im not worried about it rubbing. Also plenty of clearance between rear shocks and tires for chains in the rear it appears.
-The tires are SL rated (SL=4 ply), HOWEVER they are actually 5 ply tires main carcass and 2 ply sidewall. This is something i had trouble finding and i thought may interest people to know.
-Tires drive great, i actually had 265/17-17 Load C BFG KO2 tires on for a little and the AT3W handle better in my opinion.
-Speedo is off almost 2MPG at 65 as expected. Plan to use Forscan one day to try and fix
-Transmission shifting: i was concerned about this, but in my 30 mile drive home it did not seem impacted with the larger tires. Didnt hunt for gears on freeway or shift at weird times.
-Not sure on MPG hit as the truck has 700 miles and i havent driven these much
-Spare 285/70-17 fits fine
Couple pics below, will try to post one of the full truck.
Overall very happy thus far with them. Great size for the truck over stock.
