I have been using the paid version of ABRP for planning and general navigation. I also am a beta-tester for ABRP through the Google Play store. ABRP recommends unplugging or disconnecting the OBD dongle when not driving for added security, so I recently added an OBD on/off switch that I got from Amazon instead of having to unplug and plug in the OBD every time I drive. While messing around with that, I noticed a new icon in the connection window of ABRP:
I went to the ABRP website to check the version notes:
The last line of the update notes is the pertinent part. I don't know how much info ABRP is getting through AA compared to the OBD data, but it is at least showing the battery percentage linked in the ABRP window. If I connect to the OBD data, the battery percentage is preceded by the familiar green (connected) Bluetooth symbol instead of the Android Auto logo.
Overall, I think this addition of linking with Android Auto data increases the usefulness and makes ABRP more accessible to "non-geeks" that don't have multiple OBD dongles to measure every aspect of the Lightning (pointing at myself).
