Aftermarket sub and amp

I recently added a 10" IDQ sub and rockford 500w amp with a fox acoustics underseat box. I've been reading a few threads where people have 1000w setups in their lightnings. How does that fare for the 12v system? From what I've seen, the factory 12v system only has like 55amps to play with, a 1000w system would be around 100amps.

The key is that these add on systems rarely if ever play at full tilt. Few if any would ever put that strain on the 12v system. I added a 600w for the speakers and a 500 for the sub. Have never had any issues in almost 2 years.

I would like to do this. In previous trucks I always swapped out the head unit which isn't possible now. Did you use speaker level inputs?

I used plugnplaykits loc with harness. I got the audiocontrol lc2ipro

The sub and amp? They're great. Sometimes i think maybe i should have gone with two tens and 1500w amp but it is so much better than stock if you like bass.

the plugnplaykit? It is awesome. Everything was a breeze to use. The lc2ipro is just okay. Setting it up is meh. Also i had to run a remote wire as i was unable to get the lc2ipro and rf amp to turn on without it (it has a setting to)

Ended up blowing up the idq sub lol.

replaced the rf 500w with a jl audio 1000w amp and waiting on the new sundown classic 10” that i am replacing the idq with.

going to look into adding a 400-600w 4ch and replacing door speakers as well soon.
