Sales in the UK have been lacklustre, the high cost and lease rates (due to poor residual values) are the big factors here, plus people don't seem too bothered by the new Macan.

It does well in test-drives but not translating to sales.

Nothing from Porsche UK as I have no way of asking them but heard the same from 3 dealers here.

It’s just a great car that arrived right when everyone was looking to move on from S and X.

I think UK customers just have a bitter taste in their mouths because they don't have a choice. I get the feeling that many ore oppositional to the transition because of the regulations surrounding it all

I'm seeing Macan EVs in London on a regular basis now.

As a Brit I found it refreshing - a review of a Macan that didn’t once compare any aspect of it to a ………..Tesla.

The UK base price of a 4s is about £ 9k less than one in the US but is actually £12k when the options in the UK are added for the roof, air suspension and power steering plus. This helps To explain why it may be not as popular here as in the US. The US may find the same if or when tariffs are applied - similar to our VAT which adds 20% to the cost of a car.

My feeling is that the article makes an assertion, but does little to back it up (no hard numbers whatsoever), other than the softish statistic that 40% of Macan sales in the US so far in 2025 are EV's (which even if factual is not really evidence of the assertion.)
