Hey Folks, I'm looking to plan out some basic audio upgrade(s) for my XLT on order. From my test drive the audio system was pretty pathetic, so I figured at least upgrading the front door speakers is a no brainer? A small self powered subwoofer would be nice, but that would certainly be more of an involved installation (power, signal wires). I am an old-school car audio guy, built up many systems in the 90's but haven't touched modern cars.

Thanks!

Also interested in this as I didn't want to pay $900 (CDN) for the B&O system.

I imagine replacing just the front door speakers is the biggest impact you can make for the $. Then adding a sub.

But looking for anyone who has actually done it and has recommendations :D

I too was disappointed with my xlt radio sound. My old 2004 xlt sounds better than my
2021 xlt. The new one sounds flat as though there were no tweeters. Maybe they tuned it down a lttle to make the b&o sound better by camparison.

I called my local car stereo shop, they figured door speakers and a small sub. They want to have a look at the truck first as they haven't dealt with a '21 yet.

I am also planning on having them do aftermarket heated seats (couldn't get them with HDPP), so hopefully while they are in there running the power wires for the seats, the wiring for a sub should be somewhat "easy".
