I hadn’t thought of the speaker switching, I’ll try. For the record my CarPlay connects, I just get no sound about 4/10 times forcing one of my fixes. So I have this happen from time to time. The 100% solution for me has been:
1) STOP any other music streaming from phone. If I was streaming to house speakers or headphones, I make sure to switch back to phone-only prior to getting in the truck. I suspect some of my issues came from the phone not sure which "device" to stream to. I don't want it to have to decide.
2) If carplay pops up, music is streaming, and still no sound, go to Phone List on the ford screen, click the carplay icon next to my phone to disable, wait a sec, and click the carplay icon to re-enable.
This solves the sound-out issue for me 100% since I've started doing it
