Can’t change dealers

I received my email to order on my 22 deferred reservation yesterday and tried to change dealers as the current dealer is adding a 8k adm. I’ve called ford and there appears to be a problem changing dealers for anyone who received the email offer to place the order. Is anyone else having this issue? Ford said they will get back to me in 7-10 business days.

I don't think this has been reported before, as long as you haven't submitted the order and the 2nd deposit. I would call back and see if you can get a different rep to try again. Try a 3rd dealer if you have more options?

I called there 3 times and got the same answer about an ongoing problem twice and the third call said to contact the original dealer which was completely wrong.

I could see there being a problem if your dealer on file is the one who received your private offer. Might force you to stay with them even with ADM unless you want to bail and lose the private offer.

Is the Dealer you are trying to switch to EV certified? If the private offers are truly tied to a dealer this would be the first case of 2023 shenanigans.

I believe they are EV certified, they had several lightnings on the lot as well as mustangs.

Be careful as I planned on switching after yesterday's invite and Ford said it would affect the build and delivery schedule...I sure wouldn't want to lose the private offer!

Question, on your invite to order email, does it say that you can switch dealers before you order? I know my email said that in 2022 when I ordered. Because I was under the assumption that you can switch your reservation to another dealer after you receive the invite but before you actually order. We had 3 customers do that last March and April and we received all of the reservations and order. In fact, 2 of them extended their invitation to 23 because of the sold Pro and XLT and their reservation is on our list.

It says it on the email as well as when you are taken to the first screen after clicking order now.

At this point the private offer doesn’t matter, the dealer is stealing it in the form of $8K ADM.

Change dealers before ordering, I am assuming you spoke with the Lightning dedicated Ford CS and not regular CS? Hopefully @Ford Motor Company will reply in this thread to offer assistance

The CS representative I spoke to yesterday said there was an internal email about the issue. Hopefully they can get it figured out before my order deadline of 8/22. The original dealer, Scarsdale Ford, in Westchester NY said that they charge 8k ADM and that’s their policy. I’m trying to switch to Smith Cairns which guaranteed the 22 deal ford spoke about and no ADM. Hopefully they can get it figure it out so I can change dealers.

Update….another CS rep said that because I deferred in 2022 (because there were no pro or XLT models available) that was a change to my reservation and now I can not change dealers. This is a direct contradiction to the private offer email I received last week where it says to call them to change dealers. They even suggested that I place the order and see if the dealer will be willing to transfer it. Very bad info being given out by ford CS. Has anyone out there dealt with this?
