Hey all, I recently purchased and installed a Comma AI 3x and wanted to show how I mounted it.
So I got @Ajzride's sliding mount printed last night and was looking at where to install it. I had a dashcam that used the screw holding my mirror to the window for its mount, so I decided to remove the dashcam and try and incorporate the Comma mount into it. It turned out pretty good, I think. This is the dashcam mount. I did have to break off the three clips on the left. That is where I attached the Comma window mount.
I just used some VHB for now. I'm likely going to 3D print something like this to make these two pieces one. Just gotta reverse engineer this dashcam mount. Here is the dashcam mount and the Comma window mount attached together. I will probably end up modeling something to 3d print that just combines the 2 mounts, but this will work for testing.
I just layered the VHB tape on the part of the comma mount hanging over the dashcam mount so I could secure the end of it to the window. I also put some on the window side of the dashcam mount, as there wasn't any previously.
And here it is in the truck. I do still need to take the old dashcam harness out and change the Comma cable to a flat end where it connects to the mount.
And here is a short video of the sliding on and off in action.
