Hi Everyone, Today I tried to open my frunk and it popped the first latch, but didn't open. Now it frunk is stuck cracked open. I cannot close it manually or with the remote or dash control, and it will not open. I tried using the manual release in the driver's side footwell, but the second latch still won't come undone. I can drive the truck, but get the awful "frunk open" warning siren. I've seen a couple similar problems on the forum, but none where the mechanical frunk release doesn't work. Has anyone else had this problem?

For anyone who's wondering, I did look at this thread.

Update: Pulling fuse 15 in the passenger footwell access panel disables the frunk. The only way I could get mine open was by removing the bracket (2-screws with an 8mm open-ended wrench and fuse removed just in case). You have to have skinny fingers to work the wrench, but take turns turning the two screws as this will allow the frunk to open a little more with each couple of turns.

After getting the latch handle disconnected from the frunk lid, I was able to I mess with the latch mechanism. The mechanism appears to be faulty and doesn't fully release into the open position. After playing with all of the release mechanisms for about ten minutes, I finally got the latch release to fully open, and was then able to reinstall the latch to the frunk lid, and close the frunk. Next stop is the dealer. If you have this problem, keep an 8mm (5/16 should also work) in the glove box. And don't let your kids play in the frunk!

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I am having the exact same issue. I have tried removing the fuse and pulling the release to no avail. Tried sticking my hands in and releasing but could not find the latch.

Talked to a service advisor at my local Ford dealer and the only option is to have it towed and service. According to him they have another one in there with the same problem. The part is back-ordered and the one they have in the shop has been there for two months.

Update on my latch issue. I did have it towed under warranty to a different dealer. Left in on Thursday and it should be ready on Tuesday. The problem was with the latch assembly. Nothing was stuck, just a faulty assembly. I’ll update. Thanks for all the tips, especially removing the fuse which did not help. Didn’t mean to hijack this thread nut it seemed like the best place.
