last night I had locked my truck with the Ford app after coming inside, much later. I didn't realize I had left the driver window down.

this morning, I went out to drive to the grocery store. I found the driver door locked. Hmmm... o.k., well, with the window already DOWN,
I reached in a hit the 'unlock' button. Simple. No worries.

UNTIL, I opened the door.....BINGO!!!! ALARM!!!!! ALARM!!! BEEEPING!!!! BEEEPING!!!! ALARM!!!! waking up the dead, and my neighbors, on an early Sunday : /

I jumped in and pressed the brake pedal and pushed the ON button, and she stopped. Thank you. : /

Now I know I have an alarm system.

interestingly, I was only able to turn ON the truck because, while I didn't have my phone on me, I leave the keyfob in the center console, always. It allowed me to turn ON the truck, but it did NOT keep the alarm from sounding. Interesting.

So what you showed yourself is that even with the alarm on, the fob that you're leaving in the truck is not disabled, and anyone could break in (smash a window) and drive your truck away.

Discussed on the F-150 forums often. When your insurance company says "did you leave the keys in it", that's an interesting conversation.
