Hi, I'm new to this forum. I hope you fine folks can help me out.
I am a mobile DJ who wants to start hosting outdoor events, To do this, I want to build a mobile DJ truck. Normally this would take a lot of custom work, but the F-150 Lightning might be an all-in-one solution for an extra mobile DJ rig.

I would like to test a Lightning (with upgraded 9.6kw PPO) by powering all my DJ equipment and testing how long I can play on battery power alone before buying one of these. I've added up all the power consumption for my current gear and it is 3.9kw. Are there any other things I should consider?

If anyone is interested, I'm willing to rent one for $200 per day, for 2-3 days.

Thanks

Dude, People run their houses for days using just a few % of the battery. The battery pack is 131 kWh for the ER, 98 (i think) for the SR. You can DJ an all day rave on a full charge as long as your amp draw is below 30. The math tells you this is going to work, no need to rent. I think the bigger question is what kind of distances will you need to drive, and will you be able to get from a charger to a venue, play your gig, and then get back to a charger.

We have a couple threads [search them out] of members doing audio / visual projects, my memory is foggy, but I think initially they had issues with equipment sensitivity to the voltage output, but might have resolved that with line conditioners, etc.

On ER the battery capacity is 131kwH. So if you are using 3.9kwH then you could run from 100% to 0 in about 33 hours or roughly 3% per hour.

I rather doubt that any private owner's insurance carrier would look fondly upon a rental of this nature. If you are dead set on personal experience I would approach someone like Hertz for that.

Unfortunately, there are no local commercial rentals (that I could find).
