Hi there, I'm interested in leasing a lightning given the new incentives. Have seen posts on good finance/sale prices, but was wondering if anyone has leased a lightning recently? The quotes I get from dealers all seem high. Im in Boston, and looking mainly for an XLT ER...would be interested to see what others are getting. Thanks!

I leased. You do not get the IRS rebate but all other rebates and bonus offers do apply roughly the same as if you buy. I purchased as a business vehicle so I can expense the lease payments. The other factor in my decision was this is a first gen technology and if I do not like it or it fails, I don't own it. My lease is a 4yr, 60000mi lease and it works out about the same as if I amortized a purchase over 7yrs.

When I got my XLT ER 3 weeks ago, they gave me the numbers for both options. Leasing was the same monthly payment as purchasing but I had to put more money down on the lease along with my trade in so I decided to purchase so I didn’t have to worry about the miles at the end of the lease. Figured in a few years I could trade it in for something else if I like without worrying about penalty fees. Seems to be kind of the case these days regardless of vehicle, 3 years ago I leased a Hyundai Kona EV, the lease was $150 a month cheaper than buying, we traded it in last week for a Ioniq 5 and the Ionia 5 lease was the same price as purchasing it.

Thanks guys. Yes the quotes I've been given show basically the same. Finance is equal or better than lease. Which shouldn't be the case if Ford is applying the $7500 fed ev tax credit to the lease. Basically all other manufacturers have come around to applying it ...TSLA Rivian GM Hyundai. Loop hole to get around the income/manufacturing requirements. But doesn't seem like Ford is doing it - or rather, they are keeping the $7500 on all leases. From what I can tell??
