Lightest 34" AT tires?

Hello,

Just picked up my 2021 F150 Powerboost (traded in my 2017 Raptor) and already ordered a bunch of mods to it thanks to this forum! My ReadyLift leveling kit is en route and I am thinking of tires.

To keep from getting entangled in the dark and confusing world of wheel offsets and trimming crash bars and body mounts, I am going to just stick with my factory 20" wheels (chrome PVD or whatever Ford offers as an option) and just mount beefy tires on that. Which leads me to a 275x65x20 tire.

BFG KO2s, Cooper Discoverer RuggedTrek and Goodyear Duratracs are all an option in that size. I have run all three of those tires in previous trucks and partial to the Coopers because of how quiet they are (their whisper groove tech is not just marketing snake oil, they do run super quiet). Which brings me to my problem. In this size, every tire above is an 'E' rated tire so they are 57-72 lbs. I do like the hybrid efficiency of this truck so would prefer to not add a ton of unsprung mass if I can help it.

Anyone know if there are P/XL rated AT tires in that size?

Nitto G2’s are about the only option in a P rated tire that size. Still 47 lbs, but prob ride a bit smoother. Good reviews.

Firestone Destination AT2 if they have the size. They are all P rated and tested by tire rack to get good mileage.

Nitto Terra Grappler G2 comes in the 275/65R20 at 47.40#

I know I asked for light tires, but in the end I went with the tried and true BFG KO2s. I had a 17 Raptor and went through two sets of KO2s on that truck and they are such a good all around tire that I didnt want to experiment.

285x65x20 no level no rubbing.

I've been searching the same thing, trying to find a light 34" A/T tire for my truck.

Just an FYI for anyone with stock 18s, Nitto Terra Grappler G2s come in a 295/70r18 that is 34.30" tall and only weighs 50 pounds. Also Bridgestone makes the Dueler Revo 3 A/Ts in a 295/70R18 that weighs 54 pounds.

I really want a 34" Ridge Grappler, so I guess I'm going to have to live with a 59 pound E range tire unfortunately.

Tire Rack has General Grabber A/TX in 275/70/18 116S SL at 46lb per tire. $240.46

I've got a spreadsheet going and that's the lightest 33" tire I could fine. I know you already bought tires and said 34" but putting this out there in case anyone else is looking.

That is by far the least rake I’ve seen on any unmodified ‘21. Looks good!

Update on this thread - Have about 10k miles on the 285x65x20 KO2s with no level. MPG is same as it was stock - I get 23-24 in town and 22-23 on highway doing 70 mph. Yes I recalibrated the speedo with forscan. I almost always run 93 top tier gas from costco and yes I do notice a 1.5 mpg drop when using no name brand 87 gas ocassionally.

Not seeing any downside to the 34 inch tires. Not leveling has a lot to do with this is my guess. i.e., level affects MPG more than tire tread or size. Again, just my view, your mileage may vary (pun intended).
