2022 XLT SR and my driving is mostly 50mph and 30 mph roads so lifetime average is 2.5 miles/kWh. And that includes a couple of dozen beach drives at 0.8 miles/kWh- airing down and the soft sand really limits the range!

I grew up on the beach, destroyed my ‘56 F100 😢 driving on that sand but Never Got Pulled Out! Dug my way out a few times though 😬💪🏻! Sounds like your drive similar to mine, too.

So far no digging! My Lightning goes better on the beach than my previous 2016 F150. Just so much power and I don't bother with "Off Road" or anything- just drive on the beach after airing down to 20 or 22. We have some really soft sand where some people don't air down and churn it up- plus a fair number getting stuck each year.

I've been watching used SR prices drop, but I was wondering whether a 150 mile round trip commute is risky in western WA winter? My wife does that one or two days a week. First half is open freeway, traffic starts around Everett and goes down to Bellevue. Same on the way back.

My read is that I-5 during commute times: Everett to Bellevue is probably a 55 mph average speed or less. 98 Kilowatts at 2 mi per kWh is barely doable.. and I’d account for 80% use. Say 90% to 10%. I’d watch the heat use. Use 1 bar auto at 65-67 degrees. Heated seat if you had them. Dress warm. Roll for 2.3-2.4 mi/kwh. If traffic is slower, efficiency goes up.

2.0 mi/kwh is what I’d expect on a freeway at 65 mph with a slight headwind.

I drive 40-45 on city roads (4.5 miles)and 20-65 on the highway (11 miles) but this is in rush hour traffic so lots of Regen stop and go with pockets of slower traffic. With the last section being the remaining 5.6 miles at 55-60 mph again with stop and go.Terrain is kinda rolling hills far from flat. During the summer I typically have it set to 70 on auto a/c on two. And winter heated seats only after preconditioning on the plug at home. Here's on of my best to date.... Back in May of this year with great EV weather

Your MPkWh is higher than Model X.
