Hello all.
I'll be doing my 1 year service interval later this month. I haven't had any issues with the truck, except for modem connectivity. This is intermittent, and I believe this problem is well known, although not experienced by everyone. The modem connectivity is lost on occasion, sometimes for days at a time. I tried cycling fuse 32 for >1 minute to no avail. I haven't tried cycling the 12V main, but this isn't really an acceptable workaround considering how often this problem happens.
I have two CSPs that haven't been applied: Battery monitor sensor replacement (23B70) and HV BECM software (23B57). I expect these CSPs will be applied during the service interval. I was wondering if either of these CSPs could somehow be affecting the modem, so I thought I'd ask about the group's experience. I'm hoping after the application of these CSPs, the modem issues are resolved. If I ask them to diagnose the modem as a separate issue, they will want to hold the truck for a week.
Thanks.

Have you configured your truck to persistently connect to home wifi ?
Allegedly a couple of updates are intended to come via that channel one of which is to improve TCU functionality IIRC.

Yes the truck has my home wifi credentials and should be connecting when parked.

I’m having the same problem … works like intended for a week or two…. And then not at all for a week or more…… I took mine to the dealer for any checks and they said there are no updates to do….. but magically at that time it started working…. so they said if it happens again, bring it in the replace the TCU……
And just so happened it hasn’t worked for two days so I will be calling tomorrow to set up. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Thanks. Any updates? I'll be going for 1 year service interval in a couple weeks.

I just got my at the beginning of June, and have gotten a few OTA updates (2 I think), should I be in a hurry to get this BMS replaced? The dealers around here are saying it could take up to a week to get this fixed. They can’t even order the part until I turn the truck in. Is it worth it to do this or wait until i get OTA failures?

They only need it a few minutes / hour to confirm that it qualifies and open repair order then order the part, releasing the truck to you leaving the RO open until the part comes in, some dealers will open the RO with the quick snapshot of the defective part.

Check around for dealers in your area that will do mobile service. This CSP was done in my driveway, which means they figured out how to order the part without holding on to my truck.

This is an old thread, but I did want to make it known to those who are interested that after applying the CSPs above (4 months ago), the modem has been flawless.
