I had module #3 replaced.
I've just had the vehicle back a couple of days. After getting the repaired vehicle back, AC charging was slowing above 93% which was the identical symptom with a cell 30 mV out of balance pre repair. I've been charging to 100% and discharging (driving) to see if that'll speed the cell balancing. The charging curve is improving. Battery health is 99% in FDRS. almost 32,000 miles
FordPass states energy used charging to 100%. You can subtract the expected energy charging to 100% to estimate the excess cell balancing energy. The energy metric in FordPass already excludes AC/DC losses. You'll find nearly all the excess is from 99-100% charging, totaling 2.8-5.4 kWh per session. I wonder if the truck is trying to balance the new module. One time the energy in FordPass reported even jumped down 5.4 kWh when it ticked over to 100%, the lowered energy was closer to that expected changing to 100%.
I have three 100% balancing sessions since I started keeping track, totaling about 13 kWh extra energy. I think that's close to a module's capacity. Does anyone know the energy capacity of the replaced module?
