Very cool trip!
Although my primary purpose for a 4x4 truck not overlanding, but rather driving crappy dirt roads to mountaintop radio sites, your post is very encouraging. My 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with 277K miles on it is now running on about 7.5 cylinders and will not be able to pass a required smog test next May, so I plan on replacing it before then. Current leading contender is a Lightning flash.

This sounds awesome. Bad roads (instead of actual offroading) is my favorite. Need some pics of your Lightning on some mountain roads one day!
