Has anyone else has this happen? Last week and this week the PCM went black while driving. Four times so far. It's a Macan 4 Electric not that should matter. Apple car play in use.

Using the volume knob the PCM was reset after the second and third times. During the fourth blackout the turn signals did not work and given the heavy traffic here no more driving (%^D^!!) car until fixed.

The car will be flat bedded back to the deanship next week. (*%D#^!!)

This happened to me yesterday. Car was sitting for a few days then I drove it a mile to the store, then when I got back in, the screen was blank. No warnings or alerts in the main display and the car drove just fine, HUD worked as usual. Drove it on a 40 min. drive and after about 10 min. of driving it just reboots like its normal. CarPlay came up and seemed to remember all my settings. Its like it was doing an over-the-air update?? But there was no message about anything after it came up. Got the car in November and this is first time I've seen this happen.

Almost an identical scenario happened to me about two weeks ago, except that I also tried a soft reboot, which did nothing. About 10 minutes later the center screen gradually came back to life app by app. It has not repeated so far.

Wow.. A ten minute black out.

With my other EV (and past ones) over the air updates always had a notice ahead of time and required car not to be in use. I'm thinking that's not the culprit.

Not that a sample group of two means much but I wonder if it's car play related, switching cell related or bluetooth related problem? In other words something from car play/phone knocking out the PCM?

Yes. This happened when car play was in use. Dealer kept for 12 days and finally said it was a hardware issue and replaced something connecting the car play and the PCM. It has been better although still blacks out when car is in park and then starts again when car play is in user.

I had similar issues with PCM giving randomly some warnings like losing the speed limit signs or the infotainment freezing (no radio/music, navi not working etc) and do not come back after reset (pressing down the central knob). It is only coming back to normal operation after switching off the car for a while which it is really annoying.
I noticed that when connecting the car play, the system was crashing after a while.
I get the car to the dealer for inspection on 22 March and they hard reset the PCM. They told me that in case this will reappear, to get the car for an extended inspection.
Till now the system runs smoothly with no warnings/ no crushes. fingers crossed

Two instances of blank screen in four months. First time, it came back after parking the car. Second time, I was in car play, it went blank and came back seconds later either on its own or because I touched the screen. No warning lights.

Get your car to the dealer workshop to check it. My car, after updating is working flawlessly (fingers crossed) until now.

In for service this week and in last week. Dealer said it’s a known problem and to expect recall or update.

I beleive that all of this different kinds of intermittent failures quite a few of us are experiencing is why they last Friday adopted a U.S. complete stop sale (maybe worldwide) to install the Software Extension new module VR 28.11. It takes eight hours for a Porsche dealer to hard cable download install it; hell the directions to the Tech alone are 15 pages, line by line, sequential-step directions.

Got VR28.11 completed two days ago but since stuck at the dealership on the separate (they and I think) complete rear driver’s light intermittent blackout failure (4 times already), which might be a wiring continuity or electronic component failure. But the dealership which agreed that before VR28.11 that many of my PCM settings that worked then failed, that software 28.11’s install fixed all of them; had them all work at the Tech’s test drive thereafter (at least all excpet the lighting for as above I have yet to get my car back).

As the world turns for many of us… I remain the optimistic so far.
