I have the least expensive wheel covers and there are two slots 180 degrees of each other. It looks like slots used to pry off the caps. These are large slots so I'm wondering is there a tool versus a screwdriver to pop the cap?

Are these the wheels you have on your F-150?

I did a little research for you, from what I can tell you are safe using a flat head screwdriver or pry bar. A lot of the sources I read recommended tips by using a towel to place against the area why you will be prying, or sticking the tool inside a glove so you minimize the risk of scratching or otherwise damaging the wheel.

Here is a video showing how to remove a Ford center hub cap. Its from a twelfth generation F-150, but the overall premise should still be the same. Hope this helps!

Use the end of the lug wrench.
