I have a truck coming in the next couple of months. I currently have a RetraxPro XR cover which I love. With the new truck having the extra storage in front, I don't think I need/want a cover in the back, but I still want the rails with the slots to use my crossbars. I can't find any rails without the cover too. I'd prefer the option to move the risers and/or take them off. There's the issue of security too, with no cover to lock. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can you use the rails (only) from your existing RetraxPro XR ... or buy new rails as parts from Retrax if you want to sell the existing XR cover? You would have the slot for the cover rollers exposed, but they are not very noticeable.
