Rattling brake pedal

Hoping someone else has run into this before and knows exactly what/how to fix. Searched the forum first but found no direct hits.

My brake pedal assembly rattles. A LOT. Every bump I go over, even minor, I get a definitive rattling sound from up high on the assembly. I have tried adjusting the pedal position, no luck. I CAN stop it from rattling if i lightly hold pressure on it with my left foot, but that's obviously not a solution.

Video below... background noise makes it not sound very pronounced, but it definitely is when driving.

I don't have adjustable pedals. Something must be loosely attached, since we are talking brakes you should have a dealer look at it.

No idea, but there's a >0% chance that rattle has something to do with stranding you yesterday.

I had exactly this situation that you describe! Sounded like brake pedal would rattle at any slight bump in road, pretty annoying as rattles go frankly.

After investigating I found that the noise was a vibration coming from a black plastic electronic module which is mounted up on the left side next to the brake pedal. It clips into a metal mounting plate and the fit between the module and metal plate was loose and so it vibrated. in my case a simple plastic shim (1/32”) inserted between the two pieces solved the problem.
